Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria are set to welcome a new neighbor, after actress Alfre Woodward signed up for a role on their hit TV show Desperate Housewives.
Woodard will portray a "seemingly normal" woman who moves onto the fictional Wisteria Lane with her son.
Her character will be introduced during the season finale of the show, before continuing as a regular in the fall.
The Emmy-winning actress' new role marks her first regular TV gig since starring in the 1980s show St. Elsewhere.

i watch that show every sunday and i love it and i was wondering the same thing but what i dont get is y she has to be a single mother.....that makes it look like all blk families dont have a father figure.....im really not liking this trend tv is portraying of blk families
I loooooooooooooove Desperate Housewives....thanls Megan because the first time I heard aobut it was when you started posting....Sunday's episode was sooo darn good.....I'm glad Alfre Woodwrd is coming along....I hope she doesn't get caught up in the 'drama' I keep hearing about....
That show is so addictive. They do some crazy things and they take really controversial subjects and make light of it. The only reason why I began to watch the show when it very first came on, was because of the music and homegirl shot herself in the first 5 minutes. I was like "daaaaaaamn" and then I just couldn't stop watching.

ok i like the fact that they got a black woman *holding black power fist* but comeon lets be real....all desperate housewives fans.....i mean these white women on the show look like dern SUPERMODELS...and woodard is a pretty woman, but ummmmmm i mean compared to those white women in the looks department....i mean i dont want em to get a halle berry but maybe an angela bassett or something??.....ok nevermind imma quit.....*holding black power fist*
