I had a conversation with one of my homegirls some weeks ago...
she brought up how the history club i'm apart of shouldn't focus on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual freedom and liberation of Black people from society and this country....
that a "HISTORY" club should reflect just that....HISTORY...EVERYbody's history - not just Black people's history (she's Black, herself...attends a PWI)....
I explained to her that just like with many courses at an HBCU, we receive a lot of knowledge and a certain type of intellectual exchange we wouldn't receive at a PWI....nor have we received at any other White school prior to coming to college....
that at many of those schools, they mask "history" classes with much of their history...and half-truths or distorted story-telling of everyone else's.....
so why NOT our "history" club tell what all you wouldn't get in being apart of "White America"?
okay...well....she was saying that the formal education and history we learn in America will naturally be reflected by whoever is the majority of that time.
I challenged this theory, asking if she feels that once Hispanics are STATISTICALLY the majority, will they in fact be the ones running and controlling things to the degree that Whites have always ran and control things in this country and even the majority of this world??
She laughed and said "no"...but that really does raise an interesting question. Would they?
And it's not about what THEY want to do or are capable of doing...the question is about what they would at that point be ALLOWED to do...by certain people of this world.
So what do you all think?

OKAY, SO BEING THAT YOUR SCHOOL WAS 88% WHITE, I AM GUESSING THAT THE CURRICULUM FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR DID NOT CONSIST OF TEACHING ANYTHING BESIDES THE HISTORY OF WHITE PEOPLE?!?!?!?!

and tragically...that is exactly what i'm talking about....number one, for you as a Black person to be content with two weeks of learning about our history...
and number two, those two weeks being pretty much the average time alotted for us to be taught about our history in this system....
both speak volumes....

2 weeksSOLELY on balck pople....the rest of the time, we talked about blacks as they came along in history...fredrick douglas came up during the civil war, colin powell came up during the gulf war...i mean what we need a month on blacks? other wise it's be a black history class....lemme remind you we ain't spend no 2 weeks on no mexicans, jews ect ect...i think that's sufficient...i think every history class should be like that...and it was even generous to us because it spent like 2 weeks soley on us...and mentioned some stuff that you won't get from a regualr history class...i think our contirbutions to this nations history and world history is worth about 2 weeks solely on us...otherwise, a black history class would do...

the mere fact that you regard light-complexioned females so much higher than dark-complexioned ones demonstrates that it is because of people like you that **** mentality perpetuates harder and stronger now than ever....and for no telling how long...

dude, he covered all that junk...and i was even blown away man...it was as if a black dude was teaching the class...we got to watch parts of roots, the color purple, and do the right thing...i told mr. watson how impressed i was...being the only balck cat in the class...i told him he did a tremendous job and i like the way he didn't hold back...he showed us some old clips of whites spewing out all kinds of crap to blacks...calling them n!ggers, killing innocent blacks teens, being hipocritical calling themsleves chrsitians and whatnot yet mistreating us like they did...he told us about tomas jefferson and his hipocracy running round banging black chicks...man, the dude covred it all...he basically showed all these white teens what their people did to our people, and even tied it into why there are so many of us living in poverty today.....he even made a clear point on why there should be black history, black beauty pagent, black this black that...yeah so the white kids wouldn't ask stupdi **** questons like "why isn't there a white history month?"
but i understand not all history classes aren't like this...
yeah so what are you sugguestiing? how much time should we spend on blacks throughout our history courses that aren't black history courses?

i don't think me favoring light skinned chicks has anything to do with me hating my own kind, just more with my experience with my own kind...plently of bad experiences with loud dark skinned chicks...never had one with light skinned chicks...plus, i just have a preferance...can't a n!g have a preferance??? some chicks like tall guys, some chicks like fat guys...ect ect....i just prefer short light skinned chicks...i mean i would definately look at a dark skinned chick...demmeri (the real one who i was obsessed with and whose name i use for all my net activities) was very darkskinned...i mean man i dunno...i would not look past a dark skinned chick if she was 5'1"...i don't care what her face looks like ...she could have facial hair and a potato bud growning out of her chin, as long as she was pure and sweet, i want her...blah blah blah...i ain't all that...
i mean i ani't all that by a longshot...so...why am i continuing to type?
