Stephens is cool. I know some of my friends stay in that dorm and they have no complaints, actually. As far as Telecommunications, that's not my major but they do a lot of nice things on campus. They have a Live From Tha Hill tv show that's really good. Just make sure you're involved.

When I was on campus, Stephens Hall was one of the better male dorms to live in, in my opinion. I don't think they had a lot of bad stuff happening there, and a lot of my friends were telling me that it was pretty decent. If I didn't live in Foster, I would've chosen to live in Stephens.

Well, I'm not sure, because I don't remember going to the restroom in Stephens Hall. But I assume that there are privacy doors for the stalls and curtains for the showers. That's all I can really tell you about that.

Yes, we call our band the "Marching Maroon and White". I've known a few people who've been in the band, and they've practiced a lot. During the fall semester, our band usually participates in the Battle of the Bands competition, and they perform during our halftime show at the football games, along with different activities during homecoming week. In the spring semester, the band usually breaks up into smaller groups and plays in several concerts and jazz ensembles. So yeah, the band is very active on our campus.

A&M is pretty decent about giving out money actually. The problem is that people don't send in their paperwork on time and the money will already be distributed. I know a lot of people are actually there on a full ride (like myself :cough cough: ). Just work hard in highschool and try and do your best on the ACT to increase your chances.

Telecom is straight. I hadn't been enrolled in a minute, but there's a 90% chance that I'll be back this spring. If you plan on majoring in Telecom, get to know Dr. Handy and Dr. Powell. Dr. Colston (female) can be a hardass if you let her, but if she knows you're about the work, you will be OK. Judging from the coursework in Telecom, it looks like one of the easier majors at AAMU. Just dont do like me and get a TV job before graduation. You'll end up working too many hours to keep up with the schoolwork. A lot of people I know who've graduated with Telecomm degrees keep telling me to minor in telecomm and major in something else. I thought about changing my major to computer science or finance/accounting. The world will ALWAYS need computer techs and money handlers.

Oh, and here's another word of advice that I didn't realize when I was still in school....the faculty/staff/administration work for YOU, and not the other way around. YOU are the reason why they have a job there. Never hesitate to make them do their jobs, and if it comes down to it, dont hesitate to remind them of this. A lot of them can be REAL bad about losing papers/info, but you have to stay in their faces. A lot of them can be really bad about returning calls/emails and expect that you spend lots of time standing in line (cough, FINAID, cough)....damn all that. There will be times when you've been sitting in line ALL DAY LONG trying to talk to someone in the financial aid office or upstairs in Buchanan trying to get in touch with a counselor. When you finally talk to them, give them EVERY phone number/email address that you can be reached at. Write it down for them. Ask them to sticky-note it to their computer monitor. On the other hand, the faculty/staff are VERY busy people, and have a LOT of things to handle. You aren't the only student they have to deal with, but that shouldn't mean that you get treated unfairly. Never be late to office hours or appointments. You may never get another chance with that person if that happens.
