Hey Bison, What up? It’s been official for a while, but I'll be attending HU in the fall on their Legacy scholarship (Thank the Lord. lol. My mother and I couldn't pay for it alone). I didn’t want to bother current Bison, but HU will NOT answer their phones, and when they do they try to rush you off the phone, and I end up feeling bad and don't get all of my questions answered. lol. but yeah If you'll don't mind, can you answer some questions for me. Thanks in advance. 1. I never took the SATII English, but a former student at HU told me that I'll just be told to write an essay on the first day of class, and from there they will place me accordingly. Is this correct? 2. My two best friends and I are trying to get a triple in Drew. I heard that we should arrive at the same time, which we plan on doing, but what are the odds that if we arrive early and together we will get it? 3. My sophomore year I would like to live in the Towers. Isn't one side available for sophomore students who are in their college's Honors program? If so, how and when can I apply for my college's Honors program, or do they just pick random students? 4. I have yet to take the Online Math Placement Exam. Is this required for incoming freshman, and when does it need to be completed by? I looked on line but couldn’t find any info on it, just the link that takes you to the test. 5. Last question ya'll, I promise. lol. When should we receive forms regarding house and what do they tell applicants. Ya'll I really appreciate this info. Good look.

U don't need the SAT2 for HU. U heard correct. More than likely there will be an essay or some type of lil preliminary thingy within the first week of your English course. It isn't difficult tho. 2. My two best friends and I are trying to get a triple in Drew. I heard that we should arrive at the same time, which we plan on doing, but what are the odds that if we arrive early and together we will get it? Like others have already said, i would suggest that u and your friend arrive together and EARLY. Housing is kinda unpredictable sometimes. Worse come to worse, it isn't that bad if u and your friends aren't in the same room. It'll just extend ya lil social network, plus...half of the time ya'll will probably be down the hall kickin it i somebody else's room anyway. 3. My sophomore year I would like to live in the Towers. Isn't one side available for sophomore students who are in their college's Honors program? If so, how and when can I apply for my college's Honors program, or do they just pick random students? You're jumpin the gun a bit for this one, but i'll go ahead tell ya the deal. What school are u in? I think u have to be invited for the School of B, but for Arts and Sciences & School of C u can apply after your freshman year if u fulfill the requirements. Go to the Honors office of your respective school and ask for an application. U may even be able to get in before the year is over if u express enuff interest. Here's a lil tip...everything is negotiable at HU (folks don't want u to know that tho). Once housing registration comes around in spring, you'll apply separately from everyone else(you'll get a notice from your honors people). 4. I have yet to take the Online Math Placement Exam. Is this required for incoming freshman, and when does it need to be completed by? I looked on line but couldn’t find any info on it, just the link that takes you to the test. I really don't think that lil math test is all that mandatory. If you're already enrolled in a math class, they won't kick u out of it or anything if u haven't taken the test. Even if u aren't in a math class, i say u go ahead and enroll in one anyway when u come. I don't think they really keep track of who took the test and who didn't 5. Last question ya'll, I promise. lol. When should we receive forms regarding house and what do they tell applicants. lol. Knowing HU...sometime next year. Ha, i'm j/k. Well...not really kiddin. Ya just don't know with HU adminstration. Just keep callin and stalkin em. Sometimes that's the only way to get stuff out of them. Oh, and another tip...they are more prone to be nice to adults, so if u can have a parent make the calls, u might get more answers. Ka...tis all 8) Ya'll I really appreciate this info. Good look.

Yo, where's my halo, you are a blessing girl. Thanks Along with everyone else in this thread. I got more useful info from you'll than HU. lol. I'm in the school of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. And also, would you happen to know the requirements for this school? Thank you again.

Seeing that so many people are askin question I might as well ask a quick one myself. Whenwould you recommend sending in financial aid if you plan to accept a loan, but don't how much of it you want to accept because of incoming outside scholarships.

accept all of it! FOR NOW. when you get there you can always reduce your loan by filling out a paper in the office (i reduced mine by 1600). They dont dispurse the loans right away anyway.

no problem hun. As for the requirements for your honors program, i really don't know. I'm just familiar with the Annenberg one for the School of C (u have to maintain over a 3.5) and i think it's just a 3.2 or sumthin like that for Arts and Sciences...maybe 3.0. You might have to have to call your respective school to check, or just go to the honors office when u get there. It could possibly even be online. For now i'd say that having over a 3.0 (in college) should have u safe

I got a questions 2 Do transfer students have to take the math placement exam? Do they put transfers in Drew? If not where do they mostly go? And when i come early for band camp isn't that an advantage over most things?
I noticed that no one answered your question: 1) I believe so. 2) NON-FRESHMEN Transfers DO NOT stay in drew. you will be assigned the dorm that you will stay in BUT the most advantage that you may get for coming early is on securing a good room or if you have a roommate you get to chose what side of the room you want. Hope I helped! 8)
