Room mates do's and dont's Posted on 06-15-2005

Okay as time gets closer and closer to school time I am getting nervous about the whole roommate situation. I just wanted some advice on how to establish a mutual respect with your roomie even if you two are totally different. I dont know with my luck it seems like I'll have the roomie from hell. Anybody got any stories? do you have any do's and donts on sharing that room space.

Do talk to your roommate about keeping the room clean Don't take your roommate's things without their permission ( i used to hate walking on the yard seeing my roommate in my clothing :x ) Do tell your roommate when you plan to have visitors and ask them to do the same for you (its being respectful) Don't blast your music at 3 am while your roommate is sleep Do try to have an open relationship with your roommate because it may make your living arrangements easier. There's more..i'm sure others will cover them

^^^ LOL....and jeremy no it's nothing wrong with telling her she's beautiful...i was just playing around.... But about the roommate thing..FORTUNETLY I had good roommates.... I Stayed in a Triple in Truth and Me and my roommates got along so well!!! Except the one who stayed on the top bunk she was a little messy in her desk area and on her bed....but it wasn't to the point where it would bother me or my other roommate... I used to keep my AIM on line alllll night long...and the sound of buddies coming on and off would bother one of my roommates...she would yell at me all the time...but in a joking way....so I eventually turned the volume off at night...but other than that we were real tight and had a good year together! Be very open when you meet your roommate and be open even when you begin to live together... there may be things that yall don't do alike...but if your open about the situation then there's a likely hood that you'll be able to work around that in your living arrangement... iight i'm out!

yeah one of my roommate's alarm would go off and she would just lay there and let it go of for about 5 minutes and it would irritate the heck out of me :x also sometimes she didn't sleep in our room and her alarm would go off and I or our other roommate would have to climb to the top bunk just to turn it off..she was very clean though my other roommate would leave dirty dishes with old food in it for days. i am a neat person and I just found that disgusting. she was so messy and dirty both girls were very nice though, one was just a little to dirty for me to live with ever again and the other just had a problem turning off her alarm.
