What a damn shame! Here it is 2005, and racism still exists. I feel so sorry for Ms. Shakur, and I hope this "case" will be overturned. This is not F*CKING RIGHT! :x
i'm a disgrace becuz ion give a f**k about assata.....oh ok
If you don't give a f**k about somebody who
fought,
bled,
hurt,
gave up their way of life,
her family,
had her close friend murdered,
****,
beaten
AND STILL HAS THE GOVERNMENT HUNTING THEM DOWN CAUSING THEM PAIN...
so that your ungrateful **** could have a better future...
Yeah pretty much...
I know the whole Assata Shakur story...yeah she went through a whole hellauva a lot for the black race. The fact is, she broke the law. If she was innocent she should have let a higher power handle the situation. It aint up to her to take things in her own hands. She's not God. And what she did had no bearing on my future. I control that. She did nothing for me. What happens to be is only controlled byme. My future is in my hands.
What would Malcom say...
"Oh, I say and I say it again, ya been had!
Ya been took!
Ya been hoodwinked!
Bamboozled!
Led astray!
Run amok!"
She didn't break any law. That has been proven. If anything she was guilty of following procedure and she got shot several times as a result. Its proven medically that she didn't have a weapon. She was aquitted of all 6 bogus charges after she was in jail. She's not God... not at all. However, I definitely believe she was covered by him which is why she managed to escape from prison.
2 Timothy 1:7...
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
The fear in that scripture refers to cowardice by the way...
She was FEARless against the gov't, took POWER into her own hands because of her LOVE of her people and anybody with a SOUND MIND will have enough sense to respect the woman
Thats all i'm saying homie... is respect the woman. Simple. Don't worship her... just respect her sacrifice.
I've had too many people close to me shot in the back unarmed, pulled over, murdered, jailed for bogus things, or even just looked at wrong to be fooled into thinking that things don't affect me.
folk need wake up like its the end of a Spike Lee movie... word is bond. I'm done.

If u feel that way, that is fine. There are plenty of other Black people who have that mentality. Those are the same ones who wanted to be nice to massah during slavery cuz they were comfortable and didn't want to get whipped, those are the same Blacks who didn't want to protest during the Civil Rights Movement cuz they didn't want **** to take away the lil they barely had , and today those are the same ones who are naive enuff to believe that they are an individual and what happens to other Blacks doesn't affect them.
I'm not going to oppose u on it. U aren't alone in where u stand. But all u had to do from jump was say that instead of "f**k Assata". That's ok tho...i don't expect too much of some folkz on this board. So i'm rarely surprised by ish. Do u.
lol aight......thanks for the judgement.....but i dont give a damn about something unless it affects me or mine.....i'm not an activist.....
Glad u decided to edit that & add a lil explanation. I really wasn't going to respond to it, cuz what i said wasn't judgement. If u feel that way, must be a personal problem.
But since u decided to make a lil addition..."but i don't give a damn about something unless it affects me or mine"...
Are u Black? If so...if DOES affect u and yours *smh*.
Like i said..the things u say are a perfect representation of where a good number of our generation is. SELFISH. Glad Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, or Thurgood Marshall didn't say "i'm just gonna worry about mine". Otherwise, i'd probably be someone's maid right now...and so would your mother.
^^^ i see what you sayin... i can agree to that... experiencing racism isn't the best thing... i know how that can be... :???: you are lucky, ****... but i feel ya though...
Well i dont experience that type of racism in any form....i guess i'm blessed so attribute my ignorance on the matter to that. and for the record the law i was referring to was when she escaped......if she was covered by God she wouldn't have used the means she did to escape. did MLK try to escape?? What bout Nelson Mandela?? What if Jesus had escaped when he was arrested???? my only thing is God does things for reasons, her life and struggle would have meant just as much if she was in jail. So lets praise the good she's done rather than go and praise the fact that she retaliated which may end up not being good at all in the end. But as it is now she is telling our people that is okay to have no regard for people in authority, whether it be moral or immoral. This in the end will have a detrimental effect on our people, ie the LA Riots. Yes the government was wrong, but if you try to fight it the way she did, its not gonna work. But it goes back to your philosophy on everything.......if you wanna fight the powers that be in that way be my guest...but in the end no good will really come of it. I admit I should not have said f**k her. I dont feel that way. I was trippin' at the time.
No-one really knows how she got out, i don't think they **** the guards, and i doubt they did. But i get what your saying, but what if it was in God's plan for her to escape, no-one really know's how God works because he works in mysterious ways.
speaking of which i should've taken my tail to church.

But hey I don't feel as sorry as I would have been for her if she would've trusted that God would take care of it. Not by killing others( didnt they **** the guards? i may be wrong) to gain her freedom just because she had a beef with government in general. anyways i kno some of yall not gonna agree but oh well.
What he is saying holds much truth, though some of yall may not want to see it.
Man Rabbit I feel what you sayin but hell you aint given nothin in this world you gotta take it. And to paraphrase what my boy Malcolm X once said "Why fight over the methods in which we use to meet our goal, if in the end we still have the same goal". Basically why fight if I believe u If u want freedom u gotta take it for yaself and if you believe that God will bring u thru cuz in the end we're both free right?

True to a degree. U do have to fight back but God does gives us wisdom and didn't plan for us to fight back by escaping jail, fleeing, and what not. God would have worked it out through non ****. Don't say u will believe in God, try to escape or fight back in a **** way like Malcolm or this lady here, and then wonder why your **** got shot or **** in the end.

U have to wait on God on somethings....
If u talking about starting a business and knowing God will help u, u have to go for it
If u talking about gaining freedom 99.99 percent of the time trying to escape will get u caught and or **** and will not let God follow out his plan(s) he has for u. So u should wait it out
