Lets see...they gotta get past these teams first:
New England
Indianapolis
Pittsburgh
Kansas City
And if they play as well as they're supposed to....Oakland.
There you have it. Not for Jacktown this year. Sorry.
Kansas City???
Let's see. Jacksonville has a better defense than them. Their under a new offensive coordinator this year so their offense will see a big jump because leftwich is going to get to really air it out more. Fred Taylor is healthy. Matt Jones is making plays. Reggie Williams is developing like most recievers do in their 2nd-3rd year and Jimmy Smith is still holding it down at 34.
I would maybe....just maybe put the Chiefs as a possible team to break into that upper level of dominant teams in the AFC, but never actually in that level. The patriots, steelers, and patroits were dominant teams last year, while the chiefs were 7-9 and the jags barely missed the playoffs(9-7), and week 1 has forshadowed their continuance in dominance.
Now as far as the teams in the AFC that's trying to break into that league w/ those 3, I could put a few teams there based on their talent by paper only, because week 1 doesn't say much at all.
Kansas City's a lot better than Jacksonville... sorry dude....
As you say...numbers don't lie. I have mines, so where are yours?

look at the schedule... Jacksonville had a easy **** road like Atlanta did last year.... Kansas City played more of the upper-echelon teams, and their D isn't as good as it was before... they shut down a Jets offense that is actually potent, especially w/ Pennington and Coles together again... you can just look at the schedule and tell who had a more difficult one...

That made me remember how bad the chiefs put it to the falcons last year. But yea, when it all comes down to it, the jags beat the chiefs last year. So if we go by history, their still the better team. I think both teams were both sketchy last year tho because the jags lost some games they should of never lost, while the chiefs lost to the browns at home one week, then beat the colts another. They could do the same this year.
As far as facts go, the chiefs can in no way be mentioned among the pats, steelers, and colts. That's in no way disputable in week 2. Saying their better than the jags IS because it's only week 2 cause right now it's so man question marks and most teams aren't anywhere near settled at a certain value.
Are the ravens goin to go under .500? Are the Dolphins going to the playoffs? Na, I don't think so at all, but there's always a possibility that I could be wrong. Are the eagles, falcons, pats, steelers, and colts going to the playoffs....who is willing to confidently say no?
As far as the jags being better than the chiefs or not, I'll get back to you at around week 5 or 6. Right now it's not much to determine it besides paper and one game.

Jacksonville would crush the Chiefs this year...their quick on defense and the passing should be much improved this year.
I can see the Jaguars going 11-5 or better, and making some noise in the playoffs this year.
I know ya'll haven't forgotten how good J-ville was in the late 90s.

11-5 in a division w/ the Colts? yeah the hell right.... like Jason said... come back in week 5 or 6.... the Jags are good, but they don't know how to finish... it's only week 1, but they need consistency... just like KC can't rely fully on offense... J-ville needs an offense
and the teams of the 90s are differnt from the team of 04 and 05.... so take that argument out...
Let's talk about something real man....like chicago bears football. I'm not one too make iffy predictions so early in this season, but they are lookin like a playoff team. I mean, yea they lost to the redskins. But their D did show flashes. Soon as they get that ground game up and running they can be a ball control, defensive team and that something the NFC north can't defend against. Kyle orton is goin to be the offensive rookie of the year and wale, tommie harris, and urlacher are goin to the pro bowl. Mushin won't duplicate last year, but he will get at least 1200 in the air and 8-10 touchdowns. Thomas jones and cedric benson will get over 1200 combined. Look out for the monsters of the midwest....

The Jags play the Colts this Sunday. We'll see how things go.
I bet the Jags take out the Colts in week 2...you heard it here first.
The 90s argument wasn't really an argument. I'm saying that's what the Jaguars will be back to soon.
I would luv to see Fred Taylor win the rushing title and Byron go to the playoffs but the AFC is to full of Talent. But they will take that next step to the playoffs this year but as a wild card 10-6 barely gets u in :x

Let's put $200 on it. You can PayPal it to me first thing Monday morning.
How in Dear God's blessed name do you see this happening, considering the fact that the game is gonna be played IN Indianapolis?
Let's go by 2004's stats, seeing as how there weren't any major roster changes:
Indy's yards per game: 404.7
Jack's yards per game: 313.1
Indy's points per game: 32.6
Jack's points per game: 16.3
Indy's major offensive players: Manning, James, and basically ALL recievers when you got Manning passing to them. Hell, my Mama could catch a few Manning passes!
Jack's major offensive players: Leftwich (? wow!), Fred Taylor, and Jimmy Smith. Oh, and that oh-so-experienced offensive line blocking for the oh-so-experienced Byron Leftwich.[/sarcasm]
Jacktown beating Indy in week 2, at the RCA Dome? Nah. Not this year.
Besides...the Colts just tore Baltimore a new asshole in week 1....yes, the same Baltimore who, in 2004, was ranked 6th in overall NFL defense...NOT just AFC, and allowed about, oh, 16 to 17 points per game.
The Jags play the Colts this Sunday. We'll see how things go.
