let me set the record str8 on the republican party....#1. no republican wants to cut the government aid programs. However WE and yes that includes me think and feel that most of the aid programs are misused and abused by all races of people not just black folk. For years the Black race has been blinded by the democratic non-sense. I wish the Black race valued History as much as we do African American history. #2 to set the record str8 on my family, my family has for over 6 generations now refused to take money from the government. It has been our belief and still is that someone out ther NEEDED that and as long as we could work we didn't. WORK.....that's the key, get off the couch and work and for crying out loud, use your money wisely, if you can't afford to pay your rent stop trying to be a balla and drive the phattest car on the block and wearing designer clothes.
sweetie, I never said that disabled people shouldn't get help. You never read that, in fact I agree to help those who NEED, but let's talk about those who don't need and abuse, anyone who has ever grown up in a black community know that there are people who get aid (food stamps) and sell them. don't be blind to the fact that people abuse the system, we see it everyday and REGULATIONS AND CONSEQUENCES need to be in place for those people, heck they taking my money, my parents money, and yours for no reason. And no we aren't the Trumphs.
Haaallelujah! I just had to agree with the point that was just made about the middle class and how they really do benefit the least from gov't policies these days. And tax cuts relaly don't help anybody but rich people because I know my parents didn't get a damn thing back and ended up having to pay money instead.
And also we all know some people abuse the system, but does that mean no one should get gov't assistance? Some people really do need it. Why should those people suffer because a select few misuse these privileges?
sweetie, most republicans are not for the war in Iraq. Get more informed, they are not for the war however they support the President because he is the man elected to be our leader. I would like to offer this to you, if you were to look in the "wonderful" democratic party you would quickly notice that there are different views even within it, just so you will know, even some of your great democrats 1 want to help REGULATE tax payers money (aid programs), 2 agreed in the cut of the health care. Truth be told there are different views within the Republcian party as well. Sweetie the facts are and will remain to be. My tax dollars are being misused and abused, there are multiple people on those programs who know good and well they need to get a job, that's the facts. I am all for individuals who need the programs, by all means help them. Like I stated I am a member of the republican party, but I don't agree with everything within the party.
Oh please, most Republicans aren't for the war in Iraq NOW. Cause they were sure enough for it, when Bush was standing on that carrier declaring an end to the major combat in Iraq, and when Saddam Hussein was captured. Now that things aren't going as planned, everybody's suddenly against the war. Everybody wants to change their stance and you know why? Because elections are coming up, Congressional Elections in '06 and General Elections in '08. And if you look at the polls, the public is not pleased with the Republican party, and even less pleased with the President. The party is fallin' apart, people getting indicted and what not. Plus after Bush leaves, the party doesn't have a clear leader. Possible republican presidential candidates for '08 include Newt Gingrich (dang are ya'll that desperate?), Rudy Giuliani (Replublicans love milking Sept 11), and John McCain. With more to come I'm sure. So the future for your party isn't looking all that bright right now...
i never said that people didnt abuse it but how would u kno and prove it? The good gotta suffer with the bad. They need them more so why do u care so much? Why u are constantly replying back tryin to take up for the republicans? I stated MY opinion and there is nothing u can do to change that. I dont agree with republican views. Especially views that are something to hold african americans back and make other blacks not get it.
I think what makes the Republican Party appeal to a lot of people is the fact that they come across as strong and firm and unwavering in what they believe. Like that's one thing you have to admire about Bush, he may not be that bright, but he definitely passionate about his beliefs. He doesn't waver and he doesn't really care if people disagree with him. So he comes off as a strong leader, and that appeals to a lot of people. Plus a lot of the time the Republican Party comes off as a lot more organized.
For instance, the 2004 election. The Republican party tore John Kerry apart, those Swift Boat Veterans put together an ad campign that Kerry never recovered from. And the party rose up in big numbers, cause they felt threatened. They knew the 2000 election was shady, and that Democrats would come out to vote this time. But the Replubicans came out huge, that's why Bush won the popular vote by 3,000,000+ plus votes this time (whereas last time Bush lost the popular vote by about 600,000 votes).
Lastly, the Democrats need to step their game up. Think about it, most Democrats can say that the Republican party is screwing up, but they are unclear on how they would do it better. Like I wonder how many people are actually Democrats and how many people are like, "I'll vote for whoever's running against the Republicans".
i could care less about what party someone is in...all i look at is what each candidate brings to the table...if bush was a democrat, i wouldnt vote for him just because hes a democrat...if somebody is a ****, they just are regardless of what party theyre in...thats why i didnt vote for bush...he wasnt the best person for the job as we can see now and as most people saw beforehand
i think the best way for blacks to be affective in american politics is to not consistantly give our vote away to any one party, but support the party who we feel is looking out for us man...
Independents stand up!
I do lean conservative though, now that I pay taxes. . .whew. . .that 1200 a month **** **** for real.
You see, he doesn't understand this. He's been brainwashed into thinking that Republicans are all holy and mighty. Therefore, there's no way in even convincing to think otherwise, sadly.
Let me put in my teen-cents.....lol I agree. We were talking about republicans and democrats in History the other day. My teacher stated that people view democrats as being "low to middle class people" and republicans as "upper middle to high class people". BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE! In reality(a lot of people don't know this), republicans and democrats have about the SAME education. It's the INDEPENDENT party that has MORE education than the democrats AND republicans. The independent people are neutral and they choose the government official that seems to be best fitted for the job, not like most democrats/republicans who vote 4 the candidate that's in the same "party" as them(no offense). So just because you are a republican, it doesn't mean much. You are just the same as democrats......even though both parties have VERY DIFFERENT views on certain issues........it *still* doesn't mean much. So please, for the sake of everyone on this board, get off your high horse. You are not more or less than anyone else in this country........sorry for the rambling and my grammar mistakes lol
