No, you can only poke and add people over a certain period of time....it stops trollers and spamming
with my Dr. Payton account on Tuskegee I had like 722 friends but then like you know I was poking everyone I couldnt add as a friend instead, but like after like the 20th one it said that i couldnt poke or add anyone as a for friend for i think three to six hours.....
Facebook is by Harvard students people, they think of everything...they refuse spammers to come in and troll their sites.

The truth is.......poking was made to view people's profiles at other schools (and the ones that have privacy filters at your school) that you're not friends with. After you poke the person, a link to their profile shows up, which allows you to view it.
