Curious: Do You Go Home For Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Hello HBCU Students: Do you get to go home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? I am curious because I mentioned to a fellow HBCU mom that my son was coming home this year for both holidays. She went on about what a "waste" of time and money that was and she also said that MOST college kids do not and that I was spoiling my child... I could not imagine not having our family together for Thanksgiving... We are actually planning on going to the Bayou Classic with another family this year to show our support. What do you get to do? Surely going home for both is not being spoiled right?

I don't go home for Thanksgiving because I have a game on that day. (Turkey day= Tuskegee Vs. Alabama State). But I do go home for Christmas....school is shut down.

Okay, lets see... ...Ft. Valley is 2 hours from home... ...all of my family that lives in this state is cramped up in Atlanta... ...I'm 1 of only 3 people from my high school who go here... ...all of my friends from back home either go to Albany, W. Ga, Ga. South, Valdosta; basically, everywhere 'cept here... ...yeah, I'm going home.
