I don't expect anyone to click or read anything I post, and I don't expect anyone to open their mind a little for fear of magically turning into an atheist, but I don't give a ****. I felt like posting just in case. Enjoy... or not.
Quote:
As half of the magic act Penn and Teller, Penn Jillette enjoys challenging his audiences with the unconventional. In stating his personal credo, Jillette finds liberation in believing there is no God.
"I'd rather live my life like there is a God and die to find out there is not, than to live my life like there is no God and die to find out there is..."
see i played around wit that idea...i even played around wit allah...but i cant force myself to believe in something i cant see....but thats me. If i die and theres a god that ****...but ill be the first one to say im wrong...in Hell.lol..but ill be ok in Hell
like i said,
very weak minded people follow religion
smart people follow themselves, not some wack **** book of fables
Actually, it takes a very strong mind to believe and have faith in something that they eye cannot see and the hand cannot touch. The only weak-minded people are the one's who find it much more convenient to consider the Believer to be a gullible and minute follower.
What if your doctor told you that you had developed a new and unknown string of cancer, and had 36 hours to live? Can you honestly say that you wouldn't beg God for forgivness, JUST IN CASE? Well if you would, you actually do believe there is a God.
the only thing i can say in this essay that would make me think other wise of my religion is if God loves us so much what's with all the suffering and pain that everyone is going through? But I know that that is just something that you have to deal with. Maybe he's just testing us and wants to see who really believes in him. I think that other's people's beliefs are important and I would never try and push my faith on somebody else, but like everybody else has said I'd rather live my life as if there is a God and find out there isn't one rather than living my life as if there wasn't one only to find out there is.
^ yuck
you make us athiests look so
wrong :???:
but anyways to u religious losers
and that sucker quote
you'll find out
following manmade nonsense only shows how you can't think for yourself
"I'd rather live my life like there is a God and die to find out there is not, than to live my life like there is no God and die to find out there is..."
Beautiful quote.
Don't listen to the naysayers. As we can see, those who truly believe gender is optional will of course spout ignorance. They fear that their lifestyle of greed and pleasure seeking will ultimately result in the torture of their souls in the pits of hell.
God is great!!!
i dont see what the big deal is...we always seem to ahve this discussion every month here on hbcu...listen believe what you believe...i may not agree with penn but hey its what he believes and i cant change it...i just say respect each others beliefs and leave it alone...

My point exactly...
^^cosign to all that right there...
Geez, I read the article. I don't dislike hearing opinions and beliefs that may conflict with mine. I found sense in what Penn said, even if it's not what I believe. I see it as he came to his spiritual conclusion, and I can respect him for that because it is his own conclusion.
So...with that said, all the weakminded/strongminded hearsay is unnecessary. To believe in anything, you must be strongminded, whether it's believing in God or not believing in God, because there is always someone who wants to test what you believe.
Also, I liked N7's quote. But that leads me to think, do you (a general you..not pointing at N7 or any1 else) believe in God because you're scared of being wrong? Or do you believe in God because you truly believe in Him out of devotion, love, and respect whether it be blind or not? I onno, it was just a thought...
solipsistic <---didn't even know that word existed, glad I read the article. Thanks for the link Crunk, very insightful.
