I would highly recommend Tennessee State University, academically and socially. TSU is committed to educating its students as well as providing social events. TSU is a HBCU and is not a PWI. I would probably say that the main campus is at least 95% - 98% African/Black (8,000+). The only Caucasians that go to TSU are usually located on satellite campuses around the state. Think of the University of Phoenix concept. They have campuses throughout the Unites States, which comprise their total student body. In addition, they have a main campus in Phoenix. TSU has a main campus and several sites throughout Tennessee. When determining the total student body, the main campus and satellite campuses are used. The important fact is that the main campus is definitely a HBCU. TSU is located in Nashville, TN, which is home to3 HBCU’s (TSU, Fisk University, Meharry Medical College) and several other Universities/Colleges (Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, Trevecca, Nashville School of Law, MTSU), which means you will encounter several young adults.
TSUBlueTiger, You've been a great help b/c I'm trying to get into Tenn State as well but I have a few more questions about the school and the programs I'm trying to get into. Do the school have fashion shows that the merchandising program throw and are they stylish in some kind of way? How's the business school there?

Hi ankh24,
I hope this finds you in good spirits. I know the process of selecting a university is difficult. However, it is well worth the time and commitment to make the reach choice. The knowledge gained will influence your life, personally and professionally. With respect to fashion shows, TSU had an excellent fashion show that was classy and sophisticated, during the 2006 homecoming. To my understanding, TSU organizes several other fashion shows throughout the year. The business school at TSU is excellent. The college of Business is fully accredited and offers several business concentrations. From conversing with business majors, they seem to be prepared for corporate America. The interesting thing about the Business school is the fact that its located Downtown, which is about 5 minutes from the main campus. However, they have a business building on the main campus, but it’s mainly for freshman and sophomores. The campus downtown is for Graduate students and Juniors/Seniors. In closing, I hope you select TSU for your matriculation. Good Luck!!!!!!
Hi
Congrats on wanting to become a fellow Tiger. I am a 2003 graduate of Tennessee State University.Tennessee State University has a lot to offer just check out their website TSU, Two Campuses. One University. or call (615) 963-6000 and ask for the admissions office. No matter where you end up attending, remember your college experience is what you make of it. I say this because all colleges have downfalls and glitches. The main thing is that you are attending which is to handle business and graduate. Let me know if I can help you with anything, okay.
