BLACK people people of color period need to stop with that **** MENTALITY! for 400 years and counting we are still stuck on that BS some of us blacks and people of color need to understand it doesnt matter what shade we are. As a RACE whole we are the CREAM OF THE CROP! if we dark light or in between aint no othaz betta than a sista or a brotha of color u can say what u want I loove me a fyne man of color I want something with some pigmentation (white people being the only ones) I want a man of color aint nothing better to me. Darkskin sistahz making a comeback thats crazy but its ya opinion I PERSONALLY DONT SEE WHERE THEY WENT NOR CARAMEL LIKE ME OR LIGHTER. Black women have forever been in style no matter what shade. I love em dark burnt to a crisp or light like peaches as long as hes a man of color its all good to me. Its crazy cuz I dont understand why THESE LOST MINDED FOOLZ! (mind thoughts stil lstuck in 1800's) think that because a person is dark its like a disease or a handicapp. NOT even shoot sometime I wish I was alittle darker sometimes but I mhappy with who I am I know that I am black and beautiful and if I was dark or lighter or albino I would still love me. Its like what that girl had said about self love first forreal Black men and black women as a race is beautiful dont nothing grab attention in a room like us WE JUST THAT ILL! ... the hell? what's "out" isn't important, what's important is that good looking people of all shades are "in". it's 2006. we need to let go of the **** mentality and love black people of all shades... because even though you may be light, or caramel, or dark... you're still black. and let me just say that i  me some good looking dark skinned men! emphasis on GOOD LOOKING, not DARK.

I went to a mostly white high school and the black people there were sooo stuck on skin color. All my life I was teased for being dark and at first it used to bother me sooo much but then I got over it. Black people even went as far as saying dumb stuff like, "If we were slaves I would get to work in the house and your black A** would be outside" I be like can we please get over it. None of us would want to go back to **** times so why would you say something like that. They would say all this stuff in front of the white people I used to be like can we PLEASE have pride in our race. Whats so messed up is half of the people that were calling be black weren't exactly yella bones either. For people that be like they wouldn't date or marry a dark girl...honestly who cares because I sure wouldn't want you anyway with that kind of closed mind and attitude. It's a shame that the white people don't have to bring us down anymore...we bring each other down.

we're still having this conversation in 2006? for there to have been such a profusion of light skinned black people, a profusion of white men must have found black skin beautiful to have **** so many black bodies

honestly, I don't think that it like SERIOUSLY means that dudes like light girls over dark ones, it just FOR SOME men, light skinned girls/women catch their eye quicker. I must admit, if a group of fine **** men were to walk pass me (assuming that all of them fit my height requirement) and outta all of them only one was high yella, HE would be the one that I would first notice. Now that doesn't mean that I don't like dark brothas, I like em all complexions! But dem high-yella ones get me errtime! LOL Alot of people say thatI can't speak for either side, since (according to them) I am neither dark or light. I have even been with a dark (really, really dark,,,,I mean BLACK) guy b4 and he swore to me that I was light skinned. So I think that the labels have gotten so mixed up that it wou;d be best to just let them go.
