Nope. U gonna have take it over. It was like that with me... my GPA was there, but my test score wasn't high enough. Maybe u could get some outside scholarships tho.

Yep, you could get PLENTY of outside scholarships with that. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket and only depend on HU for financial assistance. Go on fastweb.com or type "scholarships" or "scholarships for minorities" into any web search engine and a slew of things will come up. There are also plenty of books and catalogs at most public libraries that have college scholarship listings. Most time all it takes is being a minority and having over a 3.0. The key is to just be diligent and apply apply APPLY.

To be honest, just about any scholarship offering a good chunk of money is going to require some type of essay or personal statement. College is getting more and more competitive these days, so that essay is really the only way for you to sell yourself and for them to get a feel for who you are. Don't let that deter you tho. The "essay" part was what kept me from applying for a lot of scholarships back in highschool because I figured I was too busy and didn't have the time (or just downright lazy lol). I say just designate a certain day and dedicate it solely to scholarship applications and knock a good chunk of em out. It's been awhile since I have applied for schollies, but I believe Pepsi has a good one, Coca-Cola (Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation), Gates Millennium Scholars, Kellogs, Johnson & Johnson, and many other big name corporations. Go to any internet search engine and type in "scholarship" after a big corporation's name and I guarantee you some listings will pop up.

I got the Capstone Scholarship (tuition and room) and a couple of other ones, so basically as long as I keep my GPA above 3.2, my entire four years is paid for.
