What is it that an educated black women of the 21st century want in a man. Is the thugs still in or are the educated brothers making a comeback on our black college campuses?
This is a very broad topic. I agree and disagree with some of the posts. I can't say that I would want a **** because most of the times they have a mentality that I'm not looking for. First of all, I want a man who loves Jesus! If the man doesn't have a relationship with God there is no way that he can love me or treat me like I should be treated. Jesus commanded that a husband should love his wife as Jesus loved the church. Everyone knows how deep that love runs. Jesus gave his life up for the church so that is some deep love and he expects men to love their wives in a deep way.
I have always said that I wanted to marry an educated man because I am striving to get my degree. The reason why I said that is because I don't want my future mate to be intimidated or threatened by me. We should be on the same educational page. I am not saying that education makes someone wise, but you do want to be on the same level or compatible with each other in that area.
I feel that educated women can be open to date the opposite. If you like the guy that might not have all the degrees you have then go for it! There are a lot of educated black men that lack a lot of integrity. I find more and more educated black men shacking up with women and not marrying them. So don't just limit yourself to these educated brothers out here. If the reformed **** loves Jesus and knows how to treat you right and has a hard work ethic then I say go for it! I say Black women as a whole might have to start thinking outside of the box, because there are a lot of black men that are down lowing, in jail, etc. So the educated ones are playing the field because they know that there is a small percentage for women to pick from. YET, the percentage gets larger if Black women stop limiting themselves to educated black men only! So I say step out of the box and start dating out of the black race! We as black women need to stop limiting ourselves. God said for us to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, he didn't say anything about us not talking to men outside of our race. Not to down our black brothers or anything, but I have dealt with enough mess from Negros and it makes me wonder if I want to fool with anymore of them! I might find me a good Jewish man around here! LOL
Sister Tamera and smc112 I feel yall! I dont know about dating outside the race cuz I love my black men. Some of them need some help, well alot of them might need some help but I love them. " I Love Yall!" LOl. But definitely the love of God plays a huge role. If they dont have that, then they can forget about it. It aint gon work.

datds07 you right on track...Black men are something special :-)
Black men know that they were born to be someone great, sometimes they just get lost along the way. Sometimes black men don't even realize the potential that they have. To me, the question isn't between a **** and an Educated Man, because that's not even worth considering. The question in my mind...is, was, and will always be...what is his relationship with God and his mother? That let's me know what kind of "MAN" he is.
