Just get it off your chest and you'll feel better!
Say what you feel needs to be said!
Stretch out on the couch and let it go!
Relax! Relate! Release!
Num-yo-ho-renge-keyoh!
I think I was a little misunderstood, and it is fine, I dont think that I will ever clear up the post I made, so its cool...
I love God just as much as you guys, if not more!!! I was just making a comment on how some of the so called "religious" people are the ones who are
hypocrites at time...when i was talking about the preachy people, i wasnt talking about the people who are well versed in the word of God, because then I would be talking about myself! I know I definitely try to help people out and minister when God puts it on my heart to, so please don't get it twisted! I say that I dont care for church people...I am not literally talking about EVERYONE who goes to a church building to worship...i am talking about the ones who are in the church but not living it, thats what I meant by "Church folk" (in loose terms anyway)...yes, I have seen alot growing up as a preacher's kid, so I tend to hold on to my faith in God more than people...I grew up in a crazy church environment in which most of the kids I grew up in church with dont even go to church anymore as a result of what we saw...and that makes me sad, I want to tell them that God loves them despite all the craziness we saw growing up and that God is SOOO much bigger than that! I'm just saying I don't know if people realize it, but some are so over religious and over spiritual that they tend to be a turn off for those who are not saved! I just was stating how I felt, and how I can relate to people who are "REAL"...people who are not afraid to be transparent in their walk with God, who are not going to put up a front and act as if they can do no wrong but who are going to share the love of Christ with everyone they come in contact with without having to say a word! I've been around people who talk the talk, but when it came down to it, they could not walk the walk. That annoys the heck outta me, but I just pray for them! The people who have ministered to me the most have been the people I can confide in, the people who are not talkin about God every 30 seconds lol, if that makes sense...I guess I can't get judgemental because some people have that call of evangelism on their lives, so if it comes off that way, I apologize!
Sometimes I wish "church folk" would realize that instead of trying to shove Jesus down people's throats, they should let their walk do the talking...that is so much more powerful! Then again, everyone ministers differently, so I dunno...I guess all I really can do is do what God's put me on this earth to do and forget about everyone else and what they're doing...
Like I said, I dont think what I said will ever be understood, so I'm going to leave it at this...I love God and I am not concerned about how I look towards the eyes of others (as far as other Christians go), I may not be as OUTSPOKEN as the rest about it, but I know who I am in God and know that in myself, I will never be perfect, but thank God Jesus is!!!!! I know that my purpose here on earth is to bring glory to GOD, and I can do that without constantly having to feel like I have to "prove" it...*shrugs*
Actually, after I wrote my reply I thought about what you meant. I understand exactly what you are talking about when people over spiritualize things. There are some Christians that act like they are floating on clouds and not real. LOL If you ask them, "How are you doing?" They respond, "Hallelujah Blessed and Highly Favored." Okay,... we know you are blessed but how are you really doing and could you give me a natural response. That comes across as being weird to unsaved people. So I understand exactly what you are talking about. Jesus was real. He was friends with sinners and in order for him to bring the lost to him he was natural and real acting. As you can say in our today terms, Jesus was cool! LOL In order to attract people to Jesus, you have to be legit. You are also right that people should do more walking than talking. We should show the love of Jesus and let our life and the way we conduct ourselves be more of a sermon than talking. Yet, you must understand that the Body of Christ has different personalities and God created it that way for a purpose. You will have some Christians that are "in your face" with the gospel. You need those aggressive Christians too because not everyone is going to listen to a passive voice about the Lord. Sometimes you have to get in their face and tell them, "you are going to hell," if you don't change your ways. Some people respond differently and you have to let the Holy Spirit guide you in what approach to use. I know I have some uncles that are drunks and will cuss you out. So do you think that I would use a passive approach? NO, because you have to be upfront and to the point with them! Jesus was like that too if you read throughout the Gospels. He was compassionate with many but then he was firm and fierce with some. He is the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah all at the same time. So you just have to let the Holy Spirit guide you with how you approach people with the Gospel.
RIGHT ON!!!! I definitely agree with what you're saying...after I posted my response, I did realize that we do need those in your face Christians...we need them just like we need those of us who let our lives do the talking...those in your face Christians are often the ones who have that evangelistic calling on their lives, so if God has called them to be that, then who am I to get on them???? Thats not my style, but I admit, to say that I hate them is a bit much...annoying? maybe! Hate them? no...so yeah I definitely can't say that...to each his own I guess...but occasionally I just need for people to bring it down JUST a notch, JUST one notch lol...

PRAISE THE LORD!!!
I understand this post just fine. In your other post it was more about your choice of words. Everybody (saved and unsaved) knows that some people that go to church aint saved. That's why as being saved people we shouldn't sugar coat it. Don't call them "church folks" when they're really "religious folks." In the bible it talks about how the devil will transform himself into an angel of light. So, you know it's going to be people misrepresenting themselves. The bible talks about how when the children of God present themselves the devil is in the midst. That includes at church. We have to realize that we are living in the last days and the devil's job is to cause confusion and division in the church. The devil don't want to see anybody go to Heaven and will do whatever to make sure they don't. That's why you can see people that once was on fire for the Lord starting to fall off. We need to come together and pray for them. Pray for their strength in the Lord. Pray that the hypocrite either comes all the way in the church or goes all the way out of the church. In the bible it talks about how God would rather you be hot or cold, but because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, he will **** you out of his mouth. Yes, hypocrites are annoying, but the hate that you feel is coming from them. They wish that they could be where everyone else is spiritually, so all they can do now is try to fake it till they make it. Jesus is compassionate and we have that in us. Which means that we have the ability to empathize. We also have the ability to realize that it's not us, but the Jesus in us that will either attract people to us or repel them away from us. This is one of the reasons why it is sooooo important to have the Holy Ghost. When you're saved you have to watch everything that you say and do, because people are always watching. God is watching too. Sometimes it can seem hard, but we have to make sure that we say what we mean, and not mean to say something else. Think about this...if all somebody knew about being saved is by what they see and hear from you, what would they know? Would they know what being saved was? Would they know that there is a difference between being in the world and of the world? Would they wont to be saved? Or would they think it was a waste of their time? Saved people shouldn't always be talking about what's wrong, instead they should be talking about what's right, or who's living right, or who got saved, or who got filled with the Holy Ghost, or how the spirit of the Lord was flowing at service, etc. We don't want to be a stumbling block on account of the words we use...does this make any sense???
BUT OF COURSE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!
(F.Y.I... When I say "we" I am including myself in that saved people category)
Alright! Moving on...
What do I need to get off my chest?????
Why are folks in such a hurry to grow up???? ENJOY WHERE YOU'RE AT!!! I know I am!!! Except for the bills part, of course lol
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
You can expect C_Nels to bring a bottle of laughter to the party!!!
Maybe you should pass it around. There seems to be too many uptight people on the scene. Maybe there's some people who just need a good laugh!!!
"LAUGHTER IS STILL THE BEST MEDICINE!!!"
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Bear with me for a minute, I need to get something off of my chest...
It seems that my days are always longer when I am in the midst of a negative person. A person that no matter what you say, they know how to put a damper on the mood. For instance... I say today is a good day, they say it could be better. I say the breeze feels good, they say it's too cold. I say the food was good, they say that they could have given us more...you get what I'm saying. Now, it feels like I'm actually being drained of energy, because it's almost like an emotional battle. See, I am a very positive person and I try to look for the positive in every situation and I just don't understand someone being down and out about everything. I see if their life was going downhill, than I would understand, but it's not. I just don't get it and I guess I never will!!!
Why do folk have to take things so literally?!! We're having an employee day this week and I'm asking folk to sign up to play volleyball, asking for 6 man teams. Why does this lady email me, "6 man team? What about women?" So of course I'm like... Breeeeathe! Relax, Relate, Release!
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
