I'm applying early action to the one and only HU... I feel I have a pretty good chance of getting in but ONE big problem I havent taken my SAT'S yet I kind of pushed off taking them because of nerves but I just found out the earliest date I can take them is on september 9th YIKES will I be able to get all my info in to Howard to be considered for acceptance and financial aid by the deadline...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.....
Is there anything I can do to speed up this process or take a different test like the ACT or are they on the same testing schedule
yeah I already set up an account on collegeboard.com and act.org..on collegeboard they gave me some good scholarships I'm going to apply for..but I plan on taking the SAT October 4 and maybe November 1st..and take the ACT September 13 and October 25th..
yea thats the same dates i plan on taking mine.im still thinking about whether or not i want to take the ACT. it depends how well i do on my next ACT and how i feel.lol

Do you know if Howard makes u take any subject test?..like the SAT II or whateva..and I have been wondering this for awhile..if I apply Early Action and dont get accepted..can I apply regular admissions? Thanks for the help

Jasmineh thanks for posting this thread. i'm in the same position as you. i'm going to be a senior this upcoming school year and i also want to apply to Howard early action but like you have yet to take the SAT because of nervousness as well as other reasons. i found out the earliest test date for the SAT this year is sep. 9th so i plan to take the SAT then. Howard is my first choice too. i think the only reason i'm applying to other schools as well is because that's what's expected. HBCUlover, it's too bad your not interested in going to Howard too because you seem like cool people but i don't blame you cuz i'm not tryin to go to college up the street from where i/my parents live either. spelman's not for me (especially since they don't have nursing for a major) but one of my besties wants to go there sooo bad. i should prob. tell her about this website n then you two can talk about spelman or whatever. so yeah but good luck wit all your applications since i see you want to apply to several schools. oh yeah n thanks for all the info about DC anymore would be greatly appreciated. but yeah jasmineh, we gotta make sure we stay on top of those SAT dates (deadlines for registering and test dates n stuff) so we can apply early action to Howard and hopefully get accepted! deuces

well i hope when i take the SAT i can get a high enough score to qualify for one of the scholarships that Howard offers. i also plan to apply for outside scholarships but haven't really started searching for those yet. but yeah i def. need to apply for fin. aid because that's my only hope of paying for college (that or go in debt which isn't a very good option if you ask me ) what about u, are you applying for schollys and fin.aid?

yeah same here hopefully i'll qualify for the capstone or founders even the legacy would be nice - anything to cut down the overall cost. are you applying to any other hbcu's?

Yeah can u plz find the number for me..I would greatly appreciate it..but late last year..I called the admissions office to request information about Howard..and the woman on the phone got an attitude..I was like damn..all i want is a brochure or something lol..but random questions..what is a Jamba Juice or whateva its called?..im from North Carolina and I have never heard of it before..
