Questions about Hampton Posted on 07-08-2008

I am a senior in high school and i am interested in Hampton. I have a few questions for students who currently attend Hampton or people who have graduated from Hampton. 1. How is the campus? 2. How are the dorms? 3. How is the social aspect? 4. How is the academic aspect? 5. What is there to do in your free time? 6. I want to major in Accounting or Mathematics, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me about those majors and how the classes are. And any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello. Does anyone have any information about the graduate programs at HU? Specifically, the MBA program.

I'm going to major in Pharmacy too! I don't know how far you are into it but I heard it was really hard. I was wondering if it was hard because of the amount of classes we have to take, or the type of classes. Like.. is it hard because it is a lot of work or is it hard because the classes are hard? I don't know if that made any sense lol But also, what made you decide to change your major?
Sorry!! I'm like..some months late, but if your a freshman, you're probably just now taking Professions of Pharmacy I so hopefully it'll still be helpful. Okay, as far as the classes go in the school of pharmacy, they really aren't extremely challenging. PP1 semester, PHA 102 (freshman year) is basically just background information on the profession of pharmacy. I know you guys have a different teacher this year, but last year we were broken up into groups and did intense research on different ****, but it wasn't TOO serious. First semester sophomore year was a little bit more difficult to get through because of all the rote memorization necessary to get through Medical Terminology (PHA 201). Like...flash cards and study groups were definitely needed to even think about getting through that class. And Second semester sophomore year, you take Pharmaceutical Calculations (PHA 202) and this is whats kicking my **** right now! Its only a one credit class, but the professor is extremely dry and...ugh. I'm not a fan, but thats not why I'm in school. I actually haven't changed my major as of yet, but since the school of pharmacy is "rumored" to be on "probation"...whatever that means I'm still considering it. The dean of the school of pharm, Dean McLean is coming to speak with us wednesday so0o...yea. Hope this helped!

I went to Hampton for undergrad, computer science.  When I expressed my interest in the mba program (with the business school department head) he recommend I consider another school for my MBA, mostly because I attended Hampton for undergrad... I was disappointed.  I don't think I'd ever turn away a high potential student if I was a dean of a school!

Will, I think whoever advised you of that is probably eating those words now. 0

I did have a couple professors that recommended that I go to another school for graduate study... I was looking at ODU, Maryland, and William & Mary for MBA, but Hampton offered me the $...
