College Confusion! Posted on 11-19-2008

I'm currently a senior in high school ('09!!!!!). My school is predominantly white and seen as the "rich school" of my area. There are black people at my school but because i take almost all advanced placement courses i rarely see them and because of this have few black friends. both my parents went to tuskegee, so did my grandparents and my brother is currently attending skegee too so hbcus are in my family. im not sure what to do tho cuz i don't kno if i'll fit in at howard or hampton (which i've already applied to) being such a guiet "white girl" that speaks properly, isn't the best dancer, and has both lil wayne and jason mraz on her ipod. am i too "white" for a hbcu? My acadmeics (i have a 4.4 GPA and 33 act and am a national achievement semifinalsit) have brought me attention from schools from Caltech to Duke to Harvard. most people i know don't even kno what a hbcu is and keep pushing this other schools at me because of the name. i don't kno if i'd fit in at one of these schools either tho! now im more confused than ever about what school is right for me. If anyone has any advice on my problems or info on howard or hampton id really appreciate it. plz help!!!!!

I'm not going to lie to you and say you won't face any prejudice. Some people in the AUC (cau, morehouse, and spelman) are ignorant. Let the haters hate. Follow your heart, and go to CAU! There are people from all backgrounds here.
Thanks =] Eh, There are a lot of ignorant ppl all over. Hopefully when I do get to CAU I wont get one as a roommate =] Thanks again for the insight
