Or you could get what they call Marley hair...it's cheap...at home it's like $5 a bag....

xavierette, arent you natural???...cause if you are you really dont need no micros....but if you do get em you need to take em out like a month after ya get em because your hair will lock quicker than if yuo had a relaxer because of the hair texture when it grows and if you press before ya braid your hair it will eventually return to its natural state anyways while in the braids....i mean i dont even recommend them because when ya take em out of natural hair even from that short period of time its gonna be FAR worse hell than bella mocha explained....

I had micros like 3 years ago for the first time and they took all ma hair out and i only had them for like 1 1/2 months. It took me 6 hrs to get them in and 4 hours with the help of my mom to take them out. I will never get braids again I just grow my hair out now and the results have been great. I guess braids are just too much stress on my hair

yeah i know, i transitioned to before i cut....but really you shouldnt get micros if youre growing out...itll do much more damage in the long run especially if you have 2 textures in your hair, with 2 textures your hair is at ITS MOST sensitive and the relaxed ends are more prone to damage and likely to come out with the micros....i mean ive heard horror stories from transitioners ya know...i mean get braids i mean ive gotten em but i just dont think ya should get micros right now, just get a SLIGHTLY bigger size or even get small sengalese twists(best style for transitioners, all ya do it twist em out and its gentle), and if ya insist on em wait till youre FULLY natural so it can be its healthiest...i mean thats just my experience ya know p.s--if you use synthetic hair after ya take the braids out ya need to wait 2 weeks before ya put more braids in just because synthetic sadly has chemicals in it much like the ones in relaxers to make it straight/curly/dyed....and ya need those 2 weeks to have your hair recover from that

^^^what are pixie braids? I'm trying to get braids also, but I know I don't have patience for micro braids....I don't even like waiting too long to be shapooed. I don't want cornrolls....doesn't look good in an office. And I don't want anything that is going to lock my hair (I'm not ready for that kind of comittment ). This hot weather is making braids a neccesity!
Pixies are small "box braids"......i guess they got the nickname from how small they are (pixie stick)......u can get them as small as micros except they are braided and burnt at the end. Mines werent micro small-but small enough....and they dont take forever to get out. Oh and they didnt take out as much hair as my micros did neither. 8) An example of pixies:
Thanks for the info

Well I'm natural and I have gotten micros plenty of times, never dramatically took my hair out and it never was a problem taking them out. Ughh what was my point...damn I can't talk on the phone and type....it all depends on what type of hair ya got. Twists would be better if you are in transition though. Ya best bet is to just cut ya relaxed ends off so when you get braids you won't get split ends.
