WHY, BEYONCE - WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!? Posted on 12-01-2003

I DON'T KNOW IF YA'LL CAUGHT THE VH1 AWARD SHOW LAST NIGHT.... BUT IT IS A SAD, SAD DAY..... FOR BEYONCE HAS SURPASSED THE SUPERFICIAL AND UNORIGINAL.... BEYONCE GOT A NOSE JOB!!!!!!!!! Now, I will be the first to say that a Black man is gorgeous....and the first to say when a Black woman is beautiful....there's no point in ever being jealous - gotta support my Black people.... But first Vivica....now Beyonce....BEYONCE?!?!?!? I would've never thought :?..... I mean, they are still attractive females in their own way, but I sort of lose a little respect for celebrities when they do this mess.... Beyonce was beautiful just the way she was (as was Miss Vivica)...why in the WORLD do they do that to themselves!??!?!?!?! *sigh*....If I turn on the TV one day and see Angela Bassett has got a nose job, I'm gonna really lose it.... or any of my brothas - but see, they know better....for the most part :?..... BLACK BEAUTY, PEOPLE!!!!

OMG, like I already said b4. Its easy to say what you would do if u were not in the spotlight, but they are and you are not. Also, who's to say that they did it to fit the interpretation of European beauty? Poetic I must say girl, you make alot of assumptions about the motivations of people in the spotlight.

Not making any assumptions, Mista Slim.... Okay, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the girl was obviously not entirely happy with the way she looked before.... So think about it like this....Michael wasn't happy.....Lil' Kim wasn't happy.....Janet Jackson wasn't happy (damn, the entire Jackson family, for that matter...let's not discuss Latoya :shock.....Vivica wasn't happy....and what was the move they made that they thought would bring some content to their insecurities? They got the exact same nose.... Whenever you hear that a Black person has gotten a "nose job," you already know what is meant and how the "new nose" is going to look....LIKE A WHITE PERSON'S. The point is, she was trying to strive for what she considered perfect, but why?? That's all I'm asking - why??? Like I said, I could see if she was **** **** before or whatever, but the girl was a really pretty girl. Just because you have money, it doesn't mean you automatically have the right to straighten everything about you you feel is flawed.... And what does being in the spotlight have to do with anything??? So, because I'm suddenly a big celebrity superstar and further in the White man's world than ever, that means I have to submit to their standards or change my true self just to fit whatever it is everyone else wants me to be??? And again, I'm not making assumptions, Slim....it's just a matter of fact....I had never heard anyone say anything about Beyonce's nose...or Vivica's, for that matter....so, yes - it is about their own individual insecurities....I just don't understand how one's own self-criticisms could become so intense and so unmanageable to where you'd resort to something so extreme....

^^lol, I know I keep writing a whole lot about this.... but dammit if I don't feel passionate about this subject.... plus, it's been a hot minute since I've written some in-depth novel-type entries on here anyway ....

If he wanted her to have a narrow, "White"-looking nose, he would have gave it to her.... She had come that far with the nose she had....and, in my opinion, it's always a person's imperfections that make them "perfect" or beautiful.... ...Beyonce starts with the nose...and before you know it, she's going to have gone off on a tangent, like someone already mentioned....I mean, look at Lil' Kim.....there was a point where she really could have just stopped.....same with Michael Jackson....but they say that once you start getting the cosmetic surgery, you just can't stop.... That's all my point....even Halle Berry STILL has so many insecurities, even though so many people consider her one of the most beautiful human beings on earth.....but you just have to deal with them and look at the overwhelming positives.....it's called LIFE. And on a final note...imagine if everyone in the entire world had the money to achieve this so-called "perfect look"....everybody would look the exact same, and I'm TELLING you...everyone would look White....because, whether we want to admit it or not, that is tragically what we consider to be superior beauty and perfection.
^^^BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER....IF A SMALLER NOSE IS WHAT SHE LIKES WHY CAN'T SHE HAVE THAT? AND PLEASE STOP CALLING IT A EUROPEAN NOSE....MY GREAT GRANDFATHER HAS A SMALL NOSE..<

You assumed that she did it to try and fit the European standard of beauty. Not said in those words, but that was the general statement. That was an assumption b/c u don't know why she did it. Her reasons are her own. Second being in the spotlight has everything 2 do with the situation. 2 constantly be under scrutiny 4 little thing you do, wear, say, think, eat or dont eat. This whole little topic just furthers my point. Hell, the girl cant get a nose job if she wants to without people making comments about it and don't let her for a moment show up unfashionable to an awards show. Let's not forget about the reactions to the frizzy puffy hair she was wearing around the time Goldmember came out. When you have people looking that intensely at what you do there's no way you could tell me that you would not be in the least bit self conscious and insecure. Finally what may be extreme to you, may not be extreme to others. I personally dont see anything extreme about it. She had it surgically resculpted, oh well. She saw something she wanted to change, she changed it. There are worse things she could have done

Aside from Miss Spelgirl....no one still has addressed my question about 50 Cent....Tupac...Biggie....Jay-Z....Nas.....any of 'em.... We both have different perspectives on this, but yeah, generally-speaking, you are correct - it's her body, her reasons, her decision. But I'll always have an opinion....not necessarily regarding her, but just cosmetic surgery in general.... But yes - can someone please speak on the fellas?? Or, what if one of the females with a big **** had a whole bunch of the fat taken out (if that's possible) because they felt their **** was too big....and ended up with a completely flat ****? Especially if every Black female in the business was doing it (Trina...J-Lo...Beyonce....etc...)....? Now, I know how guys think, and you can't tell me ya'll would be saying that "it's her body, her choice - she's still bangin'" yadda yadda.....lol

Hell if I could do it I'd get my lips thinned out and a nose job probably. (I get tired of everybody saying I got coot lips :roll As for the dudes, hell if they got it done more power to em. If they wanted to change something about them thas them. One of my homboys just went under the scalpel or whatever the hell they do to nose, and got his reshaped, who cares, thas him. WHY CARE ABOUT WHAT SOMEBODY ELSE IS DOING WITH THEIR BODY? In my opinion, and this might not be true about you, but when someone spends their time worrying over what someone else is doing with themselves, they are generally jealous and probably have their own insecurity issues. But thas just my opinion.

LoL....I reeally tried to make a clean exit....but definitely couldn't leave without first addressing this.... Yes, I do have self-insecurities. Everyone does. I'm human, as is everyone else. Anyone who says they don't have insecurities (particularly in America, where superficiality is at its worse) tellin' a damn lie. If I were jealous, I would have been jealous a long time ago because I thought Beyonce looked so much better before. I've always thought she's looked no less than beautiful, despite what some people say. Trust me - I will definitely be the first to give props where they are due. I'm not the type to rain on someone's parade, down someone because of their looks, or sweat over the illusion that the grass is greener on the other side (and it never is)..... Like I said: it is an opinion. I mean, if I speak my opinion that whoever is **** all those people in Ohio is crazy and coldhearted, that doesn't mean I want to be the one **** the people. Or, if you want me to use an example from the subject at hand, I (just like everyone else in this country...or world, period) have made my comments about Michael Jackson, positive and critical....that DEFinitely doesn't mean I want to be him or look like him. I don't do jealousy, sweety - it's a waste of time...and energy. And yes, I do understand that you said the statement was not necessarily directed towards me, but I just had to clarify . I'M OUT 8)!
