On the question 'Is College Dropout a perfect album for you' he answers:
Perfect? I don't know. 5 Mics? Yes indeed. The only album I would give 5 Mics except mine is Jay's 'Blueprint'. And tell me, who produced the best songs on it? There you go! I mean, who do you want to give 5 Mics? Tell me one reason why I don't deserve 5 Mics? Peoples say there's better rappers than me, but what does that show? I mean, Ras Kass is a good rapper. But all his albums suck. Has Nas done an album that was as good as mine? Before this issue you had him on the cover and gave him a 10 page story. I heard, he has many fans in Germany, but why? Because you love losers?

Cocky ****. No he did not deserve 5 mics. His ****maybe nice and all but it isnt hip hop, he just making music that plays to ppl's emotions. Doesnt stop him from being a cocky ****. U'd think a car accident would humble him when he is facing death.
He musta forgot that Nas ate Jay in that battle and son'd the roc too.
Then he mentions Ras Kass.
In a battle with any one of thse 2 his **** would be handed to him. He cant even do a good live performance. His ****does not top illamtic.
Cocky **** 4 real.
but truthfully, in my opinion he is a better PRODUCER than rapper.

he's getting a little played out if you ask me, by putting HIMSELF on everyone else's songs, and re-mixes... but i could be wrong. hopefully, we will still see him next year PRODUCING hot tracks. 8)
I AINT GOT NO PROBLEM WITH KANYE'S REMARKS........ HIS ALBUM WAS ALL OF THAT.....AND EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD WAS BUMPIN IT....... AND TO TELL THE TRUTH, WHAT HAS NAS DONE BESIDES ILL MATIC?????? NUTTIN AT ALL......JUST A FEW MINOR HITS HERE AND THERE......WHILE KANYE RAPS AND PRODUCES..........NAS IS MORE FAMOUS RIGHT NOW FOR BEING KELIS'S BOYFRIEND............... BUT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.
i mean, ta be honest...just like i'm not really into kanye like everyone else right now...i've never really been that into Nas either...
but from what i've seen, seems like he's earned his place in the music industry...& he had his time to shine...just like Kanye is havin' his now...
& quantity isn't always what matters...if you wanna really get into it, it's all about (well it SHOULD be all about) quality...
if you can make a lot of GOOD music over the course of years or decades & still hold your own (i.e. R. Kelly, LL, Outkast, etc. - oh yeah, & gotta include Michael Jackson)...then, great - keep doin' you...
but an artist who puts out an album or two that exceeded excellent is better than one who puts out 5 or 6 that were just okay...not sayin' Kanye's album was just okay, but i'm just speakin' on ya remark about Nas's quantity...
i mean just look @ Lauren Hill...homegirl had the "Miseducation" album that just had EVERYone in love with her 'till this day...we definitely look forward to any of her future works, but if she just had just that one album for the rest of her life, she has already proven that she can do somethin' & w/ that one album outshines a good majority of the rest of the MCs & artists out here, lookin' crazy, tryna do too much, but still not doin' enough, if u understand that....
point is, despite all of his fame, success, money, love from fans, etc...Kanye still has no bizness downplayin' Nas or any of his achievements...
what if he would've said somethin' about Andre 3000? just a rhetorical question - not sure why he popped up in my head of all people, lol...i was just wondering....
A lot of people are quick to do that though. Talk about "Jesus this" and "Jesus that" but they turn around and be the biggest hypocrites and then wanna agree with people when they talk about sinners and hypocrites ignoring the fact that they're one themselves
I agree with this kat right here.....Man you see it everyday and all I can do is sit back and watch....
Like Amazing said, Ima Chicagoan and like tha way Kanye's representin and all... BUT that doesn't mean I think he's the greatest out there right now, nor do I think he's good enough to talk mess about veterans....
He's talented, but a better producer than rapper. I like him, but here they play him out!
Now Nas on the otherhand, thas ma guy. He has several cd's under his belt, has survived several beefs, and has gained his respect over the years. Kanye needs not criticize him. Not yet at least!!

I like the album ive heard it front to back a few times. It's hott, but if u listen to it hard enough u'll realize that it took him about 8 years to write it. And when he does other people's remix's he bites off his own lines. I know that alot of rappers and great lyricist do it, even eminem and tupac have repeated some of their stuff in freestyles and wat not, but when ure fresh out on the rap scene and you can't do a remix w/o sounding like u took song writing advice from Jermaine dupri, then i dont think u can call yaself hott. From wat i hear on the streets over here, tehre are alot of better writers and I live in atl where anyone can just spit some ignorant ****on top of a hot beat. I'll take back all those words if he comes out with a cd within the next year or so that is nearly as hot as his first.
I like Kanye, but i think he needs to watch the things he says in intervies. It's funny to hear him talkin all this smack when he was in an article in Essence openly stating that he fears that this album is all that he has to offer becuz he's gettin writer's blcok. In the article he talks a bout his insecurities and all of the pressure he's feelin about comin out with anything better. Seems like a "5 mic" lyricist shouldn't have any problem dishin out quality material. When u talk a good game...u betta back it up. That's all i have to say.

Yeah dude is gonna be back behind tha scenes quick. I dont think he has P. Diddy money to pay loon, mase, and bentley for rhymes.
I have respect for Kanye West but he is overrated.
He came with some rhymes that actually make you think, but his style isn't too original and it seems like a lot of his sound was the product of a marketing team instead of an artist. I respect where he is going but I have to ask if it is authentic.
In other words Kanye isn't doing anything that Common and Mos Def haven't been doing for the past 5 years better than him.
So when I see the publicity it makes me ask questions. There is a difference in rhyming about what you believe as opposed to doing it because it is what people want to hear. Holla!
