I say FUGG a "in-style" color or what-not. That isht is SO superficial to me. I'm 5'6'', 135lbs and I would look at myself and think "Dang, I'm skinny as L. I'm no where NEAR as thick (in some places) and shapely (in key areas suck as the CHEST region) as the chicks dudes admire in those videos. I'm not dayum 34-24-36!" It doesn't matter what is being portrayed in the media. Only a shallow arse person would be attracted to what's "in-style" ANYWAY (this is NOT counting those who ALREADY had that attraction before they became "in-style")......but the non-shallow, good ones are the ones who AREN'T worrying about what's in-style anyway...and that's what we ladies are really looking for: someone that will bring out the best in us and make us feel even MORE beautiful than we already are.....u feel me?

I feel everybody with their comments But, I think that the dark skinned females get it bad. I'm an average (5'5"...size 5...not super thick, but not skinny) dark skinned female, with average length hair, and I don't think I'm **** at all (my pic) but I constantly hear (from black men) "dark skinned girls are not the business" or "I want a mixed girl with curly hair" or "dark skinned girls got too much attitude" or somethin like that. I mean, if you're just naturally attracted to light skinned girls...ok. But I think it's unfair when people rule out every dark skinned girl just cuz they dark, or cuz stereotypes. ya know?

Girl, you are a beautiful young lady. And the guys that are telling u that, are very simpleminded. This could possibly could be rooted back to post slavery days when black men somehow felt more validated or poweful for having someone on their arm that was the closest resemblance to a Eurocentric clone. Slavery was so long ago, unfortunately, alot of us are still shackled in the mind. Keep doing you, and one day a guy will come along with a free spirit, a free mind, and a mature heart. In the meantime, pay no mind to those lil "boys". I'm not mad, i feel sorry for people like that..."Forgive them father for they know not what they do..."

I agree with you. Brothas need to check themselves on that too. Just because you prefer a type doesn't mean disrespect what you don't like. And you are very beautiful!

I saw your pic and you are cute as hell. Any dude that would say somethin about you bein too dark is seriously brainwashed. A lot of my homeboys, mainly the ones in L.A., are on that "light skinned = better" trip, and I always gotta set em straight. One of em is just 17, but he was sayin somethin about how light skinned girls look better and I had to set him straight. I don't know about you all, but personally, I don't think it's such thing as being naturally attracted to a complexion. It is all in how people grow up and what they hear. Little kids will always hear their older brothers/sisters and relatives pretty much praise the light skinned kids and say how pretty they are, and kids will tease other kids for bein dark. I don't believe that Willie Lynch story because the evidence shows that it is probably fictitious..but I do believe that many of us are strongly influenced by what America will portray as being beautiful.
