yardfest-ok i must admit, whoever planned that was HIGH...it soo sucked, and as Howard people , we got so fed up with the acts we booed one miami rap group..and they proceeded to curse us out very FLUENTLY and threw a mic in the audience and almost knocked someone in the head....after him xzibit showed up and he actually was kinda good...the people who were SUPPOSED TO BE THERE WAS nelly, kanye west, chingy, fabulous, john legend, ll cool j and possibly snoop dogg , etc....the only people who came was like trick daddy, xzibit, i-20, lyfe jennings and alot of stupid unknown acts, and a lame pep rally...somone should shoot the yardfest coordinator :roll:
Hmm.. since I was on the Homecoming Committee, I think that Imma have to defend Ravi. She did the best she could do. The weather did not pan out, then the Artists were given specific instructions that they didn't feel like following... for example, Trick Daddy swore too much, and Mr. Cheeks was HIGH!!!
Oh, and no offense, but the only people who knew who was supposed to be there was the Homecoming Staff. LL was not supposed to perform@ yradfest.. maybe the game, but not yardfest, he did that 2 years ago... snoop was not, J.L. was only supposed to be there for the concert, fab, chingy and kanye were invited, but not confirmed, and nelly was there last year. I guess you have to be on Homecoming Staff to really understand how yardfest works... but yea.. it didn't go how it was supposed to go. The person who is the coordinator next year will probably be in EPP, so its a bit late for y'all to join EPP, but maybe next year you can try to be the coordinator..

hell the f*ck yeah i wanna be coordinator, i got business sense and street skills, and got experience with concerts and conventions and ish, am from the dirty dirty and will make it truly crunk........man but people were talking about who was supposed to be there like they were gonna be there...but oh well....shoot yall shouldve made them sign a contract that wouldve tied them down financially if they felt like screwing up, even though i dont know how it works, and they are just performing free im guessing ....I dont think they should be allowed to act like that yo and something should be done to make them obligated to perform like professionals...or maybe promise more promotion throughout the year across DC for them if they do a good performance, promise something...look again i dont know bout the whole thing.......but again yardfest was just ...no words......and NO MORE DAMN PEP RALLYS! :lol: ...
p.s--in past yardfests the weather hasnt been great but no offense but i dont think that should make a difference in the performances, unless ya know planes and stuff were delayed.. ican completely understand, but i guess she did the best job she could do, now its time for her to pass the torch

I didn't even make it outside to yardfest until xzibit came out. It was too chilly and wet, plus i wasn't really hyped. I was pumped to see westside representation, but homedude was cussin up a storm. "Wave ya middle fingaz in the air"...um, really sir :roll: ? I still loved my whole Homecoming experience this year tho (well, minus the ignant negros on Georgia Ave). I hustled **** seats at just about every event, so i was a happy woman

one of the best concerts i've been too. Hands down. John Legend...that man is bringin yellow bruthas back . I ain't lying. And Anthony?? That boy is the truth! We had chutch up in there that night! Folks thought they were payin for a r&b concert, lil did they know that they were in for gospel concert part 2. When they play "shoutin music" at the end of concert, u know some Jesus was in the building.
Game
the best part was on the way to the game when New Edition was parked by the back door of the Annex and Johnny Gill gave me a hug. Woo hoo 8) ! that made ma day. The game was good tho, Lorenz Tate and LL looked scrumptious, cheerleaders didn't even screw up on their stunts, and the team actually won,...go figure. Halftime was pretty cool too. Mad that Tiff & Cliff's mics were trippin on fire and desire, but they still did the dern thing. I left right after that to get ready for....
Step Show
Seem sooooo long this year. The venue had much better seating, but the place closely resembled a cross between a prison & a ghetto highschool gym. Steppers were good...well...some. The highschoolers were good, HOWEVER...some of the gestures that they were mockin was NOT okay. Deltas held it down as usual and i even thought the A&T AKAs were hella crunk. Um, I definately thought the Iotas were robbed. I love some Kappas, but canes are one thing. ****??? Naw man, they get it for that alone :lol: . Overall...good show.

I was at FAMU's homecoming recently and something very strange happened as I was walking on campus after the game. There was a car that was just sitting in the parkinglot on fire. I mean it was st8 blazin and people were just sittin therre lookin at it then finally someone called the po po's and got it taken care of. That was just funny to me. No one got hurt or anything. I was really waiting for dat mug to blow but the fire dept. came before it could. Although it wasn't my homecoming, it was a strange homecoming experience to me.

I have never seen someone as dark as him...when I saw him, the first words out my mouth were....well, letz not go there.....Mr. Cheeks was definitely high, but it made me laugh so it was all good...Trick Daddy needa get an **** whoopin from his mother after he said what he said...those at Yardfest know, me and my grls were straight up booing his ****.......
RnB Homecoming:John Legend is the only man Ive ever seen make grown black men get all excited over his songs; this guy sitting next to me *Howard student* said "Thatz my sh**" "Just zone out...listen to the music and let yourself zone out" and the guy in front of me *mos definitlely in his 40s* was standing the whole time just swaying back and forth with the music.....Anthony Hamilton took it to church! He gave an awesome performance.
The Game: Madd hype. It turned into a battle of the bands. LL was looking good and Larenz Tate was fine too. Best part: Bisons won their 5th game this year.
The Step Show: Long, but entertaining. The Iotas should have won; they were stepping with real swords, i thought someone was about to get an arm cut off or something. Everybody came in their club gear for the parties afterwards. It was cute when everyone flipped up their cellphones in the dark *so the light could come on* and waved them to the beat of the music playin.
Saturday night was crazy. People were getting shot, fights were breaking out,one guy got ****, two girls I know got punched in the face by some dudes.
