I have no problem with t\\he decision to become a Republican, I think it's an interesting one but oh well lol. But we shouldn't sit here and act like Republicans have done anything more for blacks or other minorities than anyone else has. To say Republicans freed us is a funny statement especially seeing as if you’ve read the whole Emancipation Proclimation you’d know that Lincoln freed the slaves as a political move, not just because something in his heart moved him to free the poor blacks of America. Lincoln wrote himself that if he could save the Union by freeing none of the slaves he would, if he could only free half and still save the Union, he would, but because he knew that the only way to end the Civil War was to free all the slaves that’s what he had to do. Republicans today are no better than anyone else. And the black people and other minorities they put out front these days are only out there so that they can try and get the votes of the minorities, not because they give ½ a damn about us. The only people Republicans care about are the rich and that’s only because they can count on them to give them money.

Duh! That's what people have always done when it comes to minorities. Lyndon B. Johnson only helped push the Civil Rights Act because JFK had just died and he knew that if he favored the same thing that JFK favored, it'll seal his bid for election. Granted, Johnson might've been sympathetic towards equality, but he was a still a Southern Democrat raised in Texas. Civil Rights was not in his heart and soul.

Uh....why do you think the Dems are hyping Barack and Hilary so much? You mean those two are the ONLY Black Man and White Woman that were qaulififed to be a senator? Politics is all about pawns and figureheads.

That, my pretty, is why I'm going to become one. If they can help me keep my money and prevent me from having 40% of my income taxed, THEN SO BE IT

as a low-class black person, i cant fathom voting and supporting a man who has so sickened and poisoned our community such as Bush, nor support a woman such as condoleeza rice who has become nothing but the president's lap dog and who has done nothing for the black community and has never advised the president to help us in the first place or to advise him to show public support of blacks being the most powerful black in the world nor can i support a judge such as a clarence thomas who has voted for such court decisions as to almost set our advancement back lightyears.... now be a republican if you want, i really dont care, but dont become a blind republican meaning you will support these people JUST because they are in your party, imma a democrat but do you see me claiming such people such as racist democrats in the south back during civil rights because they were democrats??...and thats what i dont quite understand about how blacks can be loyal to a party ANY PARTY and support a candidate just because of his affiliation....so yeah be educated but dont become an uncle tom in the process, aight...why im glad some republicans BLACK AND WHITE were smart enough not to vote for that **** of a president bush...but thats off topic
