Spelman women aren't stuck up...
As a ma of Morehouse across the street... I must say that Spelman has a lot of cool gurls who are going to be successful in the future.
Many people develop the logic that Morehouse and Spelman students are stuck-up because we go to the number one schools for blacks and both our schools have legacies in producing leaders.
It is assumed since we are in such an environment were success is manifest, that we develop this ego and look down on one another. However, we all are really students that love one another because we consider each other family. We are also a family that is head strong about education, graduating, and being successful in the World...
I hope to see you all in the AUC in the fall of 2005! Good luck
i couldn't have said it better. Wise words from a morehouse man.
stop lying to the kidz, everyone in the auc knows that Morehouse/Spelman didn't unjusticely recieve their reputations. I can only speak for morehouse, but Morehouse freshman are definately cocky as hell, esp when they first get here. And i know they dont' all act a fool, but the ones that do get noticed. Just look back at olive branch. All 15 of the clark guys there were trying to get girls, and the only people i saw throwing their schools in people's face had maroon key chains. And I havn't met a spelmanite that didn't put a nasty look on her face when compared to a clark girl.
Everyone matures and hopefully everyone will grow out of it, it's ust school pride and by the time you take your first midterm, or get your first C, or realize taht the school is out to get you, your credit, and your gpa, then you'll soon humble yourselves. But dont act like someone looked at morehouse/spelman on the black enterprise rank list and said, "oh they think they're cute" or "they must be stuck up and arogant b/c a magazine voted them number one." The stereotype isn't a positive one, but it didn't manifest itself.
