I was accepted to my dream school, Fisk University about two weeks ago. I am very excited because I worked very hard to get my a** in this school. Now I need help from my fellow Fiskites to let me know what I should expect from Fisk my freshmen year and the years to come. 8) :lol:

Wow, thanks for all of the info INSIDE FISK? Let’s say if have a high GPA but your ACT OR SAT score does meet the criteria; will FISK take that into consideration?
I can tell FISK and TSU are rivals. I can not in to details about that.....yet! How is the food on campus?
Congradulation on your acceptance to Fisk. It is true, college is what you make it. Rumors spread just about almost every black college. From cable problems, to adminstrative, to the school being in debt, not one black college is without blemish. Many great men and woman have came from small colleges not looking at the schools condition, but how to contribute to their former institution. I go to Wilberforce University and I hear complaints all the time. But not just our school is struggling, even TSU is struggling. (Do your research on them) Anyway, avoid the "haters" and continue your pursuit towards education.
No, FISK does not take into account that your SAT and ACT scores are low but your GPA is high. Scholarships are REALLY based on test scores and grades, you can keep testing if you think your score will go up and they will re-evaluate your scholarship potential.
Shoutouts to Wilberforce and Tuskegee on this post! Now that that's out of the way, on to the food. Food at FISK seems to be an acquired taste-better than being hungry but yet not always fulfilling. Wednesdays seems to be the universal favorite with Jesus rolls and chicken. I was in the cafe today and the roast chicken, red potatoes (w/ ranch dressing), corn and rolls looked kinda tasty (or maybe I was just hongray)...

It's amazing that you can well all year long and you take one test, that you do not score well on and you end up not being eligible for Merit Scholarships but I'm not gonna let that discourage me. I have applied for numerious scholarships; so I pray that some of those come through.

Plus visitors do things that FISKites don't, like hang on the **** walls.
The **** walls are the stone walls the run along the front of the women's residential end of campus. People who don't go to FISK will post up against these walls to watch the women as they walk by. A FISK man would never do that because he knows all of them, so it's real easy to tell people from other campuses when they do that.
Jesus rolls are basically yeast rolls prepared by the cafe that a lot of people like (including myself). "Jesus rolls" are not actually the name of the bread, that's just a name given to them by one of our students :-).
Keep your head up and leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding scholarship dollars. They are out there.
One last thing, Wilberforce is in Ohio...
