I've just received my Housing papers in the mail today and I'm not sure which dorm I should choose or put preference on. When I visited Howard I never got a chance to see the dorms so I don't know which one is the best for undergrad. For example, which dorm complex has the best showers or biggest rooms and so on.
The rooms with triples are not alot bigger than the rooms with doubles, and yes, its pretty cramped. Plus, you're living with two girls instead of one which can be a mess. But, I'm not sure about Crandall Hall. How'd you get put there?
Yeah, the triples in Crandall are a lil cramped, but at least u have AC. Truth is the only other hall in the quad that has AC. If u become cool with your roomates tho, it isn't that bad. I stayed in Wheatley freshman year, and even tho my roomate was on some other ish...i was hardly ever in my room anyway. I would chill down the hall, in my girl's room in Crandall, or in one of the lounges. It isn't that bad.
Sophomore year i was in the Annex, and with all of the hooplah i heard about the darn Annex, i had more problems there than i EVER had in the quad. We had a BIG problem with mice on my floor, there were several floods, and the annex cafe is straight boo boo. The food just got worse & worse.
No dorm on HU's campus is super great. They all have their flaws. U just have to learn how to make the most out of wherever u are
LIVE IN THE QUAD.... those annex grls cant touch the freshman experience us quad grls had.. yea u have ur own cafe, and the annex is nice as hell i wont even lie..but ur in suites. You dont know everyone on your floor, eventually u will see them but not all the time. In the quad u see every1.. its great.. stay there... plus ppl mainly eat in blackburn for the social atmosphere..so it doesnt matter that the quad doesnt have a cafe.
and about the mice.. the whole school has them everywhere so dont even worry.. and we only saw roaches when we first got there while it was hot lol. jus bring ur roach spray and ull b straight haha

Newayz... i say stay in the Quad.... my bestfriend thought she had it nice in the annex... but the 2nd month she wished she was in the quad with all of us...
The quad is the SPOTTT... dont let anyone tell you different..... I didnt have rats, mice, or roaches in my room.... get those sound things for the mice... and just keep a clean room for to keep the roaches away...
I'm here letting everybody know don't believe the hype. D BLOCC aka Drew Hall completed my freshman expierence. Yeah Yeah Yeah it had a few bugs here and there but the friendships, late night partyin, all night madden games, repeated revocation of visitation prividges and "Drew Rats" (oh yea and the low key overnight guest shhhh keep it on the low) made my freshman year crack.
So all fellas commin to Drew bring a fan or 3, and be ready for a good time.
PS Shout out to room 418, I didnt have one rat all year :grin:
