Hi, I'm from the Bay Area, California(Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose), and I just wanted to know how the kids from California will be received, and there's not attitude towards us or whatever? :-) Oh! and hows orientation work? Is it fun, whats the deal? Thanks!

Well one thing you must know about A&T...Aggies come from all over the country, so I highly doubt you will have a problem being received since you're from Cali. I'll admit there arent a lot of people from the West Coast but eveyone gets along so you'll be fine. As for orientation...you will have a lot of fun. Be prepared to take placement tests, and you will pick your classes for the fall and become familiar with all the important people in your major (advisors etc.) Everyone gets split up into groups with an orientation counselor, you'll tour the campus and get familiar with Aggieland. There's gonna be A LOT of socializing going on so my best advice to you is to be yourself and get to know as many people as you can...it'll be easier adjusting in August b/c you'll already know people. And most likely you'll have something called the "Aggie Experience"in Corbett Gym with games and stuff, and a gym jam afterward. Like I said...a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it! AGGIE PRIDE!!!

awww my torch of advice giving has passed.... good explanation Miss Jessica
I remember back when I first joined the site in 2003...we were deep with Skegee people....AWWW The memories. Carry on.
I will ask a question about NC A&T. What type of services does the school provide as far as helping the student succeed? I.E tutoring programs. What social things are there to do at A&T?
services- many tutors are available through the respective departments, especially in the math, science, english, and most importantly, engineering and technology. most teacher do provide assistance out of class, and always encourage to ask questions.
socially- a lot of the events and parties in the last few years have been in the city of greensboro, there has been gym jams on campus, and shuttles do pick students up to go to parties in the city or what not.... the frats always have something going on, and you also have 3 colleges on the the same street (A&T, UNC-Greensboro, and Greensboro College) and a college down the street (Bennett), so there's always something going on. o
