"Religion is the **** of the masses"--Karl Marx. My unfortunate Sociology professor mentioned it in a discussion during class. It got pretty heated. But after all the hubbub died down, it got me to thinking: does religion make us who we are, or is it the other way around? What do you think?
(Even though I'm a Socialist and people say that's a step towards Communism, I still think Marx was just an emo before his time. This little adage further proves my point.:splat
PRAISE THE LORD!!!
God is letting you find your own way and he does love you. He loves us all. He loved us enough to send his son to die for us. It's good that you realized that you weren't a Christian for yourself, because it never last that way. You have to come to Christ for yourself and that's the only way that you will become a true believer. When you don't want to believe things it's easy to find excuses to back up your non-belief. As far as the prayer part, there are more than one type of prayer. Some people are trying to make you feel better by telling you that they are praying for you and you don't want to accept that. That's cool. Seeing as to you were once in church and you do know the bible, if I was to pray for you it would be the prayer of the Prodigal Son. I would pray that the Lord sends you to the pig pens...Does that make you feel better??? :-)
Well, just for future references, I would prefer it if you didn't pray at all. It is not cool, in my opinion to pray for someone JUST BECAUSE they didn't believe or stopped believing (as in my case) in a particular set of beliefs. And don't believe for a minute that I am not aware of the type of prayers there are. But I don't appreciate this one at all. That's seriously shoving Christianity down my throat in a sugar-coated way. I'm no longer a Christian, so what? That's my prerogative. Trust and believe, I'm not making any excuses. I simply don't believe in any of Christianity's doctrine. A prayer of sending me to the pig pens...all because I'm not Christian. How sweet. And somehow, you expect others to come to your faith with that kind of 'loving' propaganda. Yeah, I'm really jumpin' on that Jesus train now.

Wait a minute...where's the ha, ha, ha's at???
Don't tell me when you gave up your Christianity you also gave up your sense of humor!!!
I wouldn't expect you to jump on my Jesus train because it's headed for Glory...which is a place that you don't want to go!!!
I don't expect anyone to come to my faith like I have my own religion. The bible says that if we lift Jesus up then he will do the drawing. All I am doing is talking about what I love to talk about...which is Jesus. Just like you have the right to tell me how much you don't believe in any of Christianity's doctrine, I have the right to tell you how much I believe in Holiness which includes the Trinity. I believe that the word of God will never return void, so even if you don't receive it, I'm freed just by giving it to you!!!
Oh yeah, by the way...
JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!!
Um...isn't Yeshua a Jewish term? The one for Joshua? Anywho, if Yahweh, the higher power that I'm sure you're referring to, really loved me, he would let me find my own way to him and not tell me that doing said action would ensure me a place in an everlasting pit of fire. That's REAL love. Besides, it's not like I was a non-believer straight out. I am a former Christian. But I wasn't a Christian on my own terms. I was a Christian for other people, which didn't seem right to me. And since I saw no reason to remain a Christian, since I didn't believe in the Trinity and Jesus dying on the cross for my sins and coming back to life (which sounds like something straight out of a sci-fi flick) I left. And please don't pray for me, I'm sure you mean well and all, but the way you're doing it makes me feel there is something wrong with me. I don't like that feeling. I am not going back to Christianity. So don't bother to pray that I will. Thank you.
I'm sure you mean well too but its Too late i already Prayed ......Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Well, if there was any other need to prove that Karl Marx was right in some respects, the past couple of posts are beautiful proof. Really, they are. Man, do I do a good job. Let just me say this. I am not Christian. There is nothing wrong with me. I do not NEED your prayers to come back to Christianity. You people have better things to do with your time than to further irritate a non-believer. I'm not even trying to be conceited, but I've gotten prayers. Unwanted and unnecessary ones. St. Peter once spoke about keeping to your own house, and this is probably what you should get to doing. I don't even believe in a Hereafter, so trust and believe I'm not that worried about going to either Heaven or Hell. So stop posting and imposing. It's rude and disrespectful and furthermore REALLY, REALLY off topic. Did anyone ask for spiritual advice? Um, no. Stop the Bible Studies class people, this ain't that post. Oh and this goes for all other religions that feel that my life is a sin...just so Christianity doesn't feel targeted.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!
It's always a blessing to see Men living for the Lord!!! There's nothing like a Holy Man of God!!!
Zen Buddhism and Taoism are more my style. Paganism is cool too.
Zen Buddhism and Tao are real awesome, the wu-mei philosophy in Tao and the search for Nirvana in Buddhism is way cool. As for paganism, I'm not too sure. It appears to be a rather ambiguous belief system due to the lack of awareness (or more or less acknowledgment) of its existence. My bestest friend was a Wiccan, so I have no issues with paganists. I'm just rather confused about its philosophies and doctrines.
My religion does make me, if we're getting technical, then my religion is the reason I'm here. I don't make Christianity anything because that is something which is way above my level. I was put on this Earth to serve a purpose and when that purpose is served my time here on Earth will be finished and hopefully I'll ascend up into heaven. So yes, my religion does make me and I see nothing wrong with that
