FOR THE NEW INCOMING STUDENTS
I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO JUST COME FROM HIGH SCHOOL AS A SENIOR...YOU KNOW THE FEELING OF RUNNING THE SCHOOL AND EVERYONE KISSING YOUR A**...OR MAYBE THAT WAS JUST ME.... :wink: BUTTTTTT.......PLEASE BELIEVE WHEN YOU COME TO COLLEGE AS A FRESHMAN ITS A VERY DIFFERENT THING....
NOW HOWARD WHICH I AM A LITTLE DISSAPOINTED ABOUT DOESNT REALLY HAVE AN OFFICIAL PROCESS FOR FRESHMAN LIKE SAYYYY BETHUNE COOKMAN WHOS FRESHMAN HAVE A SUN VISOR AND CAN NOT GO WITHOUT WEARING IT UNTIL HOMECOMING......BUT YOU ARE STILL A FRESHMAN AND FRESHMAN SHOULD STAY IN THEIR PLACE
NOW I DONT MEAN TAKE SH*T FROM PEOPLE BECAUSE THEN YOU WILL JUST BE CLASSIFIED AS WEAK BUT THEN AGAIN PLEASE BELIEVE SOME THINGS THAT YOU DID IN HIGH SCHOOL ARE NOT CONSIDERED COOL NOW

DONT LET THE HYPE FOOL YOU THIS IS COLLEGE AND I KNOW I AM HAVING A GOOD TIME LIVING EVERYDAY TO THE FULLEST

and i don't know about EVERYTHING on homiez list, but the whole "know your role thing", don't trip. It's just a way of tryna make u earn your respect, but I say "if u give it, u get it". The whole "process" biz is sumthin u will hear alot, but if you aren't in an org. then who gives a crap? Even tho this is college, you'll find alot of the same things. College students are nothin but old highschool students. Not much changes. U still have clicks and u still have identifiable groups. Except here, it isn't necessarily the jocks, geeks, preppies, and loners. It's the "motha Africa power to the movement poets", "the always suited future politicians of America runnin powerhall (located in blackburn)", "the carribbean cats always playin soccer near the flagpole on the yard", "the video hoe lookalike who's starvin for attention", "the collegiate ****", "the fashion divas rollin with the hottest labels but not a penny to they're name", and the most entertaining..."the former highschool loser who comes to HU & turns into a hoe becuz of the ratio".. Not everyone falls into a category. Most don't. But those that do, are easily identifiable.

All im sayin is keep it real, if you hard then u hard, if you scared say u scared, and if you wanna be the number one hot girl then why the hell are you at Howard? I thought folks came to college to get an education. People is too caught up in tryin to have this image when they get up here that they not focused and end up flunkin the f**k out. I know college is the time that you "find yourself" but i think **** is doing a little to much searchin and just need to embrace whoever they already are without trying to be someone they not.
Thought we went to college to better ourselves :?
