i've heard many people say that it is a shame that blacks are the first to head to the back of the bus and back of the classrooms after everything the people came before us did just to achieve the right of being able to do the opposite - be at the front...
personally-speaking...when i get on a bus...it really depends on my destination, how soon i'll be getting off, etc. etc....but for the most part...i do tend to go str8 to the back...
even in classrooms....that varies too...but usually, i'll try to get one of the back seats...or seats furthest to one of the sides....it's just hard for me to be in the front or middle...
and this is why...
and i could be wrong...but this is for me...
i like to see everything that's going on....i don't like the idea of people being behind me....even when i'm walking with my friends - if it's a group of us or even just one other friend & they're behind me....i'll stop long enough for them to either get in front or beside me...
I want to be able to see everything...be the observer...not the person being observed...that's just a big preference of mine and for the type of person i am...
& also...as far as sitting in the back of the classroom is concerned....most of the time, i end up making better grades than those who sit in the absolute front row anyway....i mean, i feel that if you KNOW that you need to be sittin' up at that front in order to make your grade...then go for it...but i zone out a LOT in class...write in a notebook...draw...mess with my phone...have a "when in tha hell iz this class gonna be over?" expression on my face....tha whole nine...so i just feel it is always best for me to not be up at the front with all of that goin' on...especially if i can do all of that & none of it really reflect on my grades ultimately....
but anywayz....
if i'm riding alone i sit in the front, if i'm wit a group i sit in the back , 'cause for all of what yall tryna say about rosa parks n sh!t, we CHOOSE to sit in the bakc now. its a privilige. white people , if the bus is full except for seats in the back, are AFRAID to sit in the back.
now in class, i try to sit in the exact middle seat.
i think its funny when riding on city buses, women always make sure they sit in the front if thier alone....
is the bus driver going to protect you or something...

On the bus, I sit in the middle or back depending on where I'm going...
In class, I'll sit in the back cuz I like to keep everything in front of me unless the class is hard......then I'll sit a row back from the front seat.
I sit in the back of the classroom. Not that it matters because the classrooms in the engineering bldg. are small. When I was in grade school, I sat in the back of the bus, since that's where all the cool kids sat. I haven't ridden a bus since I was 12...

Thats me in a classroom exactly... I dunno maybe its jus nerves but i get nervous when i sit at the front knowin all these ppl can c wat im doin. The whole bus thing is different.
The reason why I like sittin at the back of tha bus is cuz in our city those seats are facin each other n if ur in a big group its easier for everyone to have a conversation that way. On buses I dont really care tho, I sit wherever theres a seat, Id rather be sittin at the back than standin in the front. But i prefer sittin in the seats for two ppl cuz at the back n very front u end up gettin suished between teo ppl n that gets real uncomfortable.
