I was on mtv.com and saw in casting call that this topic is soon going to be an episode, and just wanted everyone who comes to this site to know about it (and possibly give sum one the idea of considering this?)
True Life: I Go To An All Black College
Originally African American colleges were created to ensure equal educational opportunities for black students. Today, many of these schools stand out academically, have developed unique cultures and are even sought out by non-black students. Do you attend a predominantly African American college and feel your school has a different culture than most "typical" colleges? Are you part of an upcoming event that is unique to your university? Are you part of a sorority, fraternity or sports team and have a rivalry with another black university? Are you one of the few non-black students at an all black college?

Why do you keep trying to "out" schools' problems when just about the majority of the people on this site already know about them? Every school has their problems and no one has really said anything about Tuskegee and if they did it was because you started the argument...I could understand if it was on the Smack Board but you turn good topics into "Investigator Ward Connerly Vistits HBCUs" which isn't called for...
PS- Like you've said so many times, yes I'm a high school junior, no I'm not in college and yes, I want to go to Howard...what will you come up with next...
Since the information on that site is OLD (for example we have 7,731 students, not 4, 471. . . I wouldn't take the rankings too seriously

Actually. . I scored a 1320 on the old SAT (no calculators) and a 32 on the ACT. I actually wanted to come to an HBCU and turned down Princeton, Duke, UNC, UF and Georgetown. Why? Because HBCU's train leaders, not followers.

It's well known in the Southeast that NCCU is NOT known for football. We're known for basketball (Former Division II National Champions, not mythical "Black College Champions" like Tuskeegee likes to brag about), and every time we've played skeegee in the last 10 years, we've beaten the crimson silly. Amazingly, our football winning percentage was about the same as Skeegee's this year. And we WON our last game of the season.

Tuskeegee is on a farm. . . We're in a city. . . duh. . .of course it's going to be smaller. Those "ghettos" were once the black community, and if you've visited NCCU recently, you'd know that our campus is nearly twice as large due to our newly built WEST CAMPUS
Now that the facts have been dispensed, let me get a little personal.
What's the deal with the name change War Eagle or Roll Tide? This is still HBCUConnect, and you're still at Tuskegee. And before it was TuskegeeSooner. Regional and State pride dictates that you can't be a fan of both Auburn and Alabama, and then to add Oklahoma means that you might just be a little wishy-washy.
Every day you're either downing Tuskegee or trying to down other HBCUs so, what I said in the other thread about you staying. . .please disregard. You have some maturing to do, so please transfer and spare Tuskeegee University another horrible alum. HBCU's have enough of those now.

But since I tend to respect and study history, I know that once NCCU was as highly regarded as the rest of those schools, and even higher than some of them, in football, track, and academically (NCCU 72-73 MEAC Football Champions, Zora Neale Hurston, Marjorie Lee Browne and John Hope Franklin, were professors here). . .It's not like we're going to be ranked fairly by people who don't have our school's interests at heart. But as long as people continue to think that the "white man's ice is colder" no one is going to move up in the rankings.

I've been following HBCU sports since the 80s as a child. The Sheridan Poll and that Mythical Black College Championship are no more valid than the BCS. How can you rank teams together who are not in the same division anymore?
BTW, SBN Sports Poll has us ranked; we're ranked in the D2 Southeast Region Poll (and TU is not) and we are ranked in the 2004 Sheridan Poll.

Pioneer Bowl....now our seniors are in the all star bowl games on ESPN
LOL, if you only knew. Okay let me make this simple for you.
1) We lost against rival FSU. If we didn't have that stupid CIAA Championship game, the Pioneer Bowl matchup would have featured NCCU. We were 6 -1 in the conference.
2) The Turkey Day Classic is not nationally broadcast; it's on regional television, just like our game against WSSU is usually on regional TV.
3) On the all southeastern all-region team there are four eagles; compared to two Tuskegee players.

You must mean in physical size. In terms of enrollment, we're bigger than you . . but I'll chalk that up to Skeegee being private.

Why are you hatin on everybody's school ??? Like this was a friendly post in all but you tryin to pull out all this negativity regarding just about every HBCU you can....you act like Skeegee has NO problems, and that yall the sh*t and you really aint...Skeegee is a good school, and people give it the respect it deserves, but for some reason you act like no other schools deserves that same respect, and arent " up to par " for some reason...fa real tho, just relax. :arrow:
