If you're a guy and have over a 2.5 and over a 1000 on the SAT, i'd say you have a pretty safe chance of getting in. It's usually more competitive at most colleges for women because there is usually a higher ratio of women to men. Your SAT score sounds impressive tho, so i'd just recommend that you make sure you have other aspects there to balance out your application. Make sure you're involved at school, have some type of leadership positions, and/or doing community service.
Oh, and also make sure your personal statement (admissions essay) is on point. You could possibly use that as an opportunity to explain your gpa. If you had some personal problems, family issues, or some type or trial or obstacle that occured that would look impressive (i'm not sayin lie...but u know, sumtimes ya gotta fluff the story up a lil bit lol). At the end of the day, admissions just wants to be convinced that you would be an asset to the university. Your job is to prove that in your application

Hey,
That is very warm and welcoming. I will be new to Howard University this year. There are different stereotypes of the student body at Howard University. Tell me, how did you like it when you were a freshman, and is it true (from what some people say) that a lot of people on campus are quote, unquote "bougie" (hope i spelled it right, lol), or is it like a very wide mix of personalities and cultures?
