USC is the New England Patriots of the NCAA. Even when ND scored their last TD, I knew USC still had a legit shot because they had over 2mins left with timeouts. And it was all over when ND gave up that 70 yard pass. I don't know what the ND safety was doing on that play. You can't make mistakes like that and expect to beat the champs. Actually, there were 2 games Sunday that went to overtime (Dallas vs NYG, JAX vs PITT) and the Falcons-Saints game ended with a last-second field goal so I wouldn't say that the NFL games were anticlimatic, just maybe didn't match the hype and excitement of the USC ND game.

NO! this past sunday was one of the most drama-filled sundays i've ever seen....so many OTs...so many close games, stupid penalties ect ect... i think the only thing the NFL is missing this season is a dominate team...maybe the colts....but who's it in the NFC?? by the way, my jags are 4 and 2 and they earned it dude....they've had the toughest schedual (sp) up to this point out of all the 32 teams... and i repeat...jacksonville to the superbowl?

realistically the bears blew them out earlier this season, so if the playoffs were to come around now they would be out in the cold. This is the part of the season where things start to shape up though. Therefore: -The colts will show that they're the same colts as they were last year. Maybe not as good as last year because the offense hasn't had much of a pop. -The bears will take over the nfc north with assurance and move up two spots to lead the league in total defense. -Fakers like the bucs, chiefs, cowboys, and broncos will reveal their true colors which is no where close to dominance (maybe wildcard) and teams who are truly contenders (Chargers, Jaguars, as much as I don't like the redskins they got juice) will begin to dominate. -The texans will just completely stop passing the ball (or just go w/ 2 step drops) because that's the only way they can prevent david carr from being sacked. -Mike Tice will fake an illness to the likes of Mike Martz so that he can avoid the embarassment of being fired. -The entire Saints football team will start planning their one season hiatus from football to meditate and smoke weed like Ricky Williams did. Trust me, after this season they need it. -NFL players will began walking around with body guards. Before the season started Jerome Mcdougle was shot in the stomach. Recently Seahawks saftey suffered a fractured skull and was temporarily in the icu. Everyteam that got into a bar fight, or ship for the matter, could of used a body guard to fight for them. -Referees will get their own pregame show on NBC so they won't hog the cameras so much during actual games.

I feel bad for David Carr because ever since he's been in the league he hasn't had the chance to prove that he's a big-time quarterback due to his lack of a supporting cast. Perhaps if he were surrounded by a good time such as the Steelers maybe he would be Ben Roethlisberger instead of Joey Harrington. I don't think the Texans should draft Matt Leinart because he still wouldn't have any O-line to protect him. Since O-linemen take time to develop, you can't really choose one high in the draft unless they are a complete beast like Orlando Pace was when he was drafted a few years ago. The best bet for the Texans would be to try to trade for a good offensive lineman in the offseason as well as acquire a strong leader on defense so that the offense actually has a chance to stay in ball games.
