many people feel that we are no longer African's, so theirfore they don't care about of want to go to africa.....how do you feel about africa or do you feel we are still africans? should we carry the name?
ready....break......
thanx to all the mature people expressing their interest in africa, as somebody who has been to africa (nigeria) it can be a culture shock, but a one in a kind experience...
Change = split personality, split gender, split sense... but it knows it ain't no Aff-ree-kaan... lucky her!
I don't think we should carry the name unless we can trace our nationality back to an African land.
That's the rule that applies for every other American, but then again, every other American didn't go through the same ****to get here as most Black Americans. What about me? I can clearly trace my roots back to a nation and a tribe, so what do I call myself?
I encourage all of you to travel to Africa sometime. As for tracing your ancestry, if Igbo or Igala comes up, lemme know, "Cuz!"
I dont feel like I have an obligation to go to Africa but I have thought about going some day...one of my good friends is from Zambia, another from Liberia and I have some Nigerian-American friends as well...but I would also like to visit Brazil and other places that people of African ancestry have ended up in...
well...I want to travel the WORLD period...not just Africa...I want to go everywhere...I want to visit Tokyo, Hong Kong, London (hopefully this summer), Egypt, South Africa, India, Paris, and Rome before I die...I've been to Mexico SO many times lol...so that doesn't count anymore...
I was supposed to go to Africa in the 5th grade but my dad said If I was to go that they may think I'm a native and force me to stay...I've been scared to go ever since

I would probably visit Africa if I had the funds to do so. I would rather visit my family in Barbados and trace my roots. I feel a stronger connection to the West Indian culture. I don't know not much about that side of me, but I am curious.
