I know it's a little early, but is there anyone who will be attending Howard this Fall or... at least been accepted and considering it? I just sent that NONREFUNDABLE $300 enrollment fee and my housing application so I'm going there for sure.
I read Howard was a fashion off this site called studentreviews.com...The students was sayin its normal was HU students to spend $500 on an outfit...It was like If you dont have the money like that then you assed out because it makes a difference...Man real talk id probably go hungry or somethin tryin to live like that...The Truth im sho you know if this is true or not
I've visited that site... got a lot of info from there. Anyways, I think it's like that at most black college campuses you go to... not just at Howard. Everybody trying to impress somebody else... that's just how it is. On the other hand though, you necessarily don't have to try and keep up with the Jones'. Have your own style and forget what everybody else gots to say.

I'm not going to lie to you all...I'll give it too you 100% real. Those girls wear stilletto heels and a full face of make-up to a 8:00 am class lol.
But thats why I love Howard women; the look good, carry themselves well AND they are smart. The guys dress pretty well also. But I have never heard of anyone spending 500 dollars on one outfit. That's got to be an exaggeration.
I still do not think Howard is a fashion show, though. We are just students who realize that if you want to BE the best, you have to LOOK the best. Aint no half steppin!
im class of 2012 and im really wanna go to HOWARD and yall are gettin me od hype lol very interesting stuff yall puttin forward i hope to be a BISON very soon (next year) o btw regaurding the lil fashion question from when i went to visit my cousin there they dress FRESH TO DEATH like its nobody's business but im use to that (seein that im from ny) because thats how it is up north and especially increased cuz ur in a HBCU but no worries just dont look like a bum and u strait lol but i love howard peeps they are so flippin flyy as far as i can see and produces nothing but success
lol...ya'll are killing me with the fashion thing. Well, i will say this...the fashion bar is definately raised at HU. But, the beautiful thing about it is that there is not just ONE type of style. HU has students not just from all over the country, but from all over the world...so you will see a little bit of everything. As someone coming from Los Angeles, it was all about name brands. If you did not have a visible name on your chest, bag, or shoes...then you weren't stylin. Everyone pretty much looked like clones.
Since i've been at HU, i've had the opportunity to get to know myself and grow into my own style. I consider myself to be a fashionable person, but spend $500 dollars on an outfit...ha, never that! You could catch me in a thrift store with a quickness, and please believe imma walk out with a fit fly as all get out...and worth less than you'll spend at Red Lobster lol. It's all about doing you. And if "doing you" is in a pair of sweats and a tee...then go ahead and rock those sweats better than anybody can rock a pair of sweats.

Congratulations BreathingDiamond! See u at HU!But UPDATE: For those freshman who don't know... early registration on Bisonweb is July 9-13. To register you can't have NO holds so make sure u get them medical forms in! (lord knows it took my behind forever to get cleared). And if you don't wanna get stuck with that WRONG teacher, there are a couple of threads on here (Howard forum) about which professors you might want to chose and those you might want to stay away from.... u could also go to this website called ratemyprofessors.com where you can see comments and ratings about professors at Howard. Ok. Thought I'd share that info wit yall. Lata.
