And for those who are still undecided about where you will be in the fall, hopefully this thread will help you lean towards furthering your education at HU If you have any questions pertaining to Howard University, registration, athletics, Greek life, campus life, Homecoming, Washington, DC, clubs, shopping malls, classes, majors, minors, roomates, etc. DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS! Although Howard alumni and students are not experts in all areas of college life, we will try our best to answer your questions directly and in a timely manner.

How's the location? Is it really all that ghetto like people make it out to be?
Location is cool, but it could be better. There is much renovation going on so the city is making improvements for the GA Avenue area.

Q.What is the lowest gpa you need to be eligible for a scholarship?
Q.Do you know how many international scholarships HU gives out?
Im not too sure about the international scholarships...those students may choose to apply for regular student scholarships or receive funding via the Office of International Student Services.
The lowest GPA needed for a scholarship through Howard for freshmen is a 3.0

I hear that it may difficult for international students to receive scholarships
and the best bet is to apply early.
I know of one guy (from Trinidad) who did not get a scholarship the first year he applied...so he waited a year and then applied again and was awarded one.
