Speaking of natural hair...I've been thinking of giving up perms and growing my hair out...not because I perfer one over the other...naww.. I perfer managable hair.... but perms have been breaking my hair off and I just want to go natural...now does anybody know anything about possible natural styles or a website that could show me maybe something I could do...cuz I just don't wanna be natural and out there....
WWW.Nappturality.com is a website for natural hair and it's very resourceful. You can browse natural hair albums, find a mentor or someone who can guide you through the process of going natural, get tips, and the whole messageboard is addictive. It has really helped me when I was so totally lost the first time I went natural. The website is down right now because of maintenance but it should be up and running again in a few days.
ooooo...that's site sounds fun. I usually just do a fro, braids, twists, or blow it out. I'm gonna check it out and get some more ideas.

I use Affirm. It works really well. The only thing is, don't scratch the day you are getting it, or else it will burn like crazy.
Cosigns......Affirm is the way to go! My stylist uses the sensative scalp version of the resistent realaxer....I gots to get allllll the naps out. But I love my hair after it is done, it's soooo soft and silky and shiny....it makes me feel good. lol

The best relaxers to use are are LYE relaxers. Most people use no-lye relaxers that contain chemicals that will damage your hair.

Me personally, i use whateva stuff my hairdresser puts in my hair. I forgot the name of it, but it works good. It burns my scalp but that's just cuz i have sensitive skin. i put up with it... :? It's only been from the end of this past summer that i've been wearing my hair relaxed again. My mom started getting my hair relaxed when i was in the fifth grade, but i cut back on that once i got into 8th grade or around highschool. but i guess this year i was looking for a change or something cuz i permed it again. i miss my natural hair too!! Don't get me wrong, i love my hair regardless and have nothing against permed hair, but i have a feeling i'll go back to natural again one day...

You really can't tell anyone what's the best perm cause it depends on what type of hair you have. The best perm I have used is Silk Elements.

Also for a nice natural look--- i like straw sets--- u can even do them at home with perm rods(small-long depending on hair length) or strws w/ clips and a dryer if u use setting lotion or mousse. It looks like spiral curls but way betta!
