Hello everyone! I'm a new member of HBCUCONNECT.COM. I need to talk to a Spelman alumni or either someone who is enrolled now. I really want to go there but I want to make sure I am making the right choice. I would appreciate any response. Thanks a lotta much !!!!!

im a wee bit concerned about this whole "freshman 15" thing, so does spelman have some type of gym (or if not spelman, some other school in the area) and if so, wut's all in it?

Yes, Spelman has amenities in Read Hall. They have a fitness room,weight room, swimming pool, and basketball court; not mention those two semesters of PE. The gym is open in the morning from 7-9am, in the middle of the afternoon from 12-1pm, and in the evening from 5pm-9pm.
So get your exercise on!
To all the Ladies deciding to attend Spelman: Know that you are making the right decision. There is NO college like Spelman. The sisterhood and the atmosphere is immeasurable to any other college. It is a struggle at times, but know that in the end, it will all be worth it. I am a freshman and I have had my many struggles trying to adjust to life away from home and the whole Spelman college and AUC atmosphere. But, I stuck with it, and I LOVE IT!!! To be a Spelman woman is an honor. Congradulations to all the ladies that will be entering in the fall of 2005!!!! Hope to see you all here. when does spelman let people know about scholarships?
have they already done it? cause even tho it's a diff. school, i kno morehouse has........ i hear that they let u kno in april, but that's a lil late, ya kno?..........
ladies who go there, if u got a scholarship or kno a girl who has, when did u/she find out?
ladies who dont go there, did u get a scholarship? if so, when did u find out about it?
I'm wondering the SAME thing...I got my tentative financial award letter yesterday but have not heard anything about scholarships, and based upon from the very little $$ they gave me so far, I'm gonna need for them to give me a scholarship :???:!!!
