I was accepted to my dream school, Fisk University about two weeks ago. I am very excited because I worked very hard to get my a** in this school. Now I need help from my fellow Fiskites to let me know what I should expect from Fisk my freshmen year and the years to come. 8)
P.S. I need all the information that anyone can give me, so if you are a
student of Fisk, don't be afraid to let me anything, because I am one of you all now.
Spread Love 8)
Be careful, my fellow FISKites:
Don't be talkin too much about Freshman Week so that the newbies will have something to look forward to. And to "Guest" who made the remark about "that high school crap going on" let me just say that we are very proud of the traditions that bind us just like our fellow HBCUs. If you are a prospective student and can't handle the chain, then perhaps you should think about that before fall semester begins...
One last thing, I look forward to meeting Nikesha, Janelle, Brittney, Jenniel, Dominic, Dante, Roger, Asha, Samaria, Edwalina, Eboni, Dana, Londonn, Chantel, Cherie, Greg, William, Natasha, Suzanne, Flora, Courtney, LaDawn, Victoria, and Gabrielle next weekend :-)!
*hugs to all of my FISKites and future FISKites*
I'm so excited to see so many people pumped about my school! You guys are going to have a great time next year. FISK was my top choice, and I'm so glad God put me here. FISK is DEFINATELY what you put into it. I'm a freshman and I've done A LOT!!! I was in coronation as Miss Modern Black Mass Choir (yeah, I was one of those girls that you see everyday and looked ESPECIALLY good that night...oh yeah, and I danced so HARD at ACE...*remembers*), Pre-Health Careers club, Jubilee Hall Dorm Council, National Black Women's Health Project and much more...I've had a good year thus far.
There are scholarship opportunities. If you don't get a lot coming in, work hard, get that GOOD GPA (I'm talking about 3.5 and up) and apply, apply, APPLY for university scholarships. I didn't recieve any FISK scholarships from the school coming in, but I'm believing God for a full ride for the rest of my time here.
Spring Family Weekend is this weekend!!! Wow...well, whoever wants to keep in contact, please don't hesitate to email me kimberly8503@hotmail.com I'll be glad to show you around when you get here, talk to your family, whatever. Any future Biology/Pre-Med majors? I can hip you to the game.
*hugs again* I can't wait to meet some of ya'll!
FISKITES....you need to join this board!!!
yup, i received the presidential scholarship... i had a 3.8... but even if ur gpa is a little lower, u can still receive money... and fisk is definitely what you make of it.. join clubs and get involved... take me for example... i am on the bball team, the soccer team, i'm tryna run track, i'm in modern black mass choir, university choir (we just got back from a trip to miami), california club, and Y.E.S. (young, excited and saved) ministries. Like i said, get involved, meet new people, and have fun! i look forward to seeing yall future fiskites soon!
That's good. Y.E.S. sounds like something I might be interested in. As for as any sports........No. Thus far, I have not recieved any info on any money from FISK and my GPA is very high. I pray that something comes through.
Hello, you sound very outgoing. I am very excited about getting into FISK and Spring Family weekend. I am...also, kind of nervous with the normal thoughts, new place, people etc...
