I was really hoping HIU folks wouldn't respond to it so it could show how truly ignorant and ridiculous the whole thread was in the first place. How are you going to correct someone's grammar, and you said "in any COMPACITY"? The word is CAPACITY. Maybe you should spend a little less time marching 90's, and a little MORE time in the books. Band is great, but at a university, your MAIN priority should be ACADEMICS. On the college level, I need for you to know the difference between compacity and capacity...the difference is that one is a word, the other is not.
Also, your hate for Hampton is really not cool. It should never be that deep.
Either way, Hampton is doing the damn thing right now. Our applications rose by 23% for this coming school year, and the entering freshmen class will be another record-breaker. As far as Hampton having to drop its standards, we actually have a record number of incoming freshmen with SAT scores above 1200, and in the top of their class. So, really, our academic profile is only going UP. DIZZIAC, Hampton is about QUALITY, not QUANTITY. Yes, the school is growing, but we are not at all losing sight of the academic mission. There is absolutely no need to lower our admission standards. It is apparent that the best and brightest African Americans are continuing to choose Hampton University for their higher education. We are the #2 university in the nation for blacks to attend (behind Morehouse). We are the #6 Most Wired University (that includes ALL universities). We are a TOP tier university ranked by US News & World Reports. Hampton is also the 2004 recipient of both the MEAC All-Sports Award for the men AND women (this means that we reign supreme in the MEAC sports world). This is our 6th award since joining the conference in 1997. NSU, where is yours? We were featured in Ebony Magazine a few months ago. We have a top notch journalism and mass media program. Our school of business is doing big things, and the ground breaking on a new facility is forthcoming. I've boasted enough about Hampton, because that does not come close to all of our accolades and rankings. I'll stop now, before you decide to bring your ignorance to our admissions office. :lol:
Please do not take offense to anything that I have said, for I have love for ALL HBCU's. Each black university has a purpose, and they are continuing to produce outstanding graduates...not just Hampton, Howard, Morehouse, Spelman, A&T, and FAMU...but every black school (because we sometimes forget schools like Claflin, Coppin, Lincoln, Norfolk State, Delaware State, etc.).

It is not better than ours. And by they way if its soo good like you were saying. Where are your people working? When we Leave NSU with a BA we can go to local news stations and get a job no problem not to mention any where else in the country. And we also have the #1 College radio station in the State where is yours. We also have a top notch 48 track digital recording studio with a full version of Pro Tools about 4 triton keyboards a motif keyboard 3 vocal and intrument booths 2 control boards digi 02 rack running on a G4 the second fastest computer in the world or on the market. a boom mic. MPC 2000xl(you know timbaland uses this) and that is just 1 studio we also have two more with versions of protools and a video editing suite. Not to mention our own TV channel with our own TV Studio. SO BASICALLY YOU CAN MIX AND MASTER A FULL LENGTH CD AND PROMOTE IT ON OUR TV STATION. CHECK THE STATS ON THAT BYYYTCCCCHHHH. So our people leave with a top notch education and we actually get jobs. You can find NSu people in all types of places in the country doing Movies, independent films anchors on Local and National NEWS and Sports programs Watch out your favorite actor or Anchor might just be a Spartan. who cares who goes to your school it just makes my school less crowded and I can register for classes later.
