I'll be a transfer student in the fall and my dorm assigment is Cook Hall. I was wondering how is that dorm? space, etc. Thanks in advance!
Cook is pretty small, but it certainly isn't a bad dorm. It's usually referred to as the "atheletic dorm", because that is where most of the atheletes at HU stay (it's co-ed). One of the benefits is that it's at a pretty neutral location on campus, so you can wake up 10 mins before class and be alright lol. Here's a link to some info and a virtual tour...

Are the classes in the school of the C good? Do you feel they prepare you for your chosen profession? And what's the work like?
Howard University - School of CommunicationsWell, I can't speak for all of the classes in the School if C. If you notice of the school of C website, it hosts quite a few majors that range in subject matter and content. However, i'm a radio/tv/film major and i'd say that you get exposed to quite a bit of production information and experience in our field. Nevertheless, that is just exposure...it isn't a guarantee that you'll be prepared. At the end of the day, it's up to you to take advantage of the resources available to you
I will admit that within the communications field, specifically when it comes to media, journalism, and PR...classes just simply aren't enough. Interning is pushed to the fullest in our fields, because that is the only true way that you will gain the proper hands on experience and be prepared for your chosen profession.
As for what the work is like...once again, there is no specific standard. It depends on the course, professor, and curriculum. It all varies.
