Ok my turn...
Im going to Howard (yayy me!) and my friend wants to go to.
She has a 3.3 GPA and a 24 on the ACT, however she applied on
Feb.15 and she STILL has not heard back from HU. She's getting really worried because she's putting off other schools to wait on Howard.
My question is are they still sending out acceptance letters
or since they haven't gotten back with her by now she should just
give up on Howard.
Your input would be greatly appreciated...

If she applied on line...then she should be able to check her application status online. If not..I would strongly suggest calling to verify if an acceptance decision has been made....and hope that it is some kind of clerical/mail error on why she hasn't received anything..
But if she hasn't received anything...then..chances do look grim.
I was on TSU alumni site (BigBlueRoundup.com) last night and saw some information about Howard’s site. Therefore, I would like to share the website with future students. The site provides an opportunity to view members, forums, groups, pictures, etc. If you have time, check out the site. However, in order to join, you have to be alumni. Good Luck!

Tell her not to give up! If Howard is her first choice, she needs to call and be persistent....thats what you have to do when dealing with anything concerning the Administration Building. (Fall 08 freshmen will learn that quick!)
She probably HAS been accepted, it's just that Howard may dragging its feet with getting out acceptance letters.
so what is the average size class at Howard exactly?
That all depends on the class.
Your major courses will be small...between 10-20 people. Sometimes smaller than that depending on the major and how popular the course is and how often it is given.
All your "Intro" classes like Intro to Political Science, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Sociology, etc. can max out at 150....maybe even more. My Intro to Sociology class was held in a lecture hall and had about 100 people on the roster.

OMG IVE BEEN STRESSING ABOUT THE SAME
EXACT THING!!!!
its soo scary because i too am holding off on
responding to other universities because
HOWARD is my first choice, the other thing
that is irking me is that my school called HOWARD
to see if they got all necessary materials needed
to complete my application and the office said
yes but everytime i go to check my application
status online it still says that it is incomplete(mind you
i fineshed and sent in my app. jan 8)
its really worrying me. I have been calling them
soo often and i keep getting the same answer
I really want to get in
but i dont know what else to do
i dont want to wait in vain. Im
just really scared that ive been
denied its so nervewrecking
becasue I know enrollment
and stuff is due May 1
thanks for making this thread
Hey, if you keep getting the same response maybe you aren't asking the right questions....well maybe you shouldn't ask any questions.... I pretended to be my mom and demanded they tell me the status of my application (with TACT! THAT IS KEY!). Every department has a hierarchy....call up the ladder. I used to go over so many minutes but hey this is your education...I knew i was accepted before I got my letter and I sent my ap in during early action....hold your ground
NUMBERS TO CALL:
ADMISSIONS OFFICE:
2028062700
Ms. Sanders-Hawkins
2028062755
Write down who you speak to, the time you spoke to them, what office they are in, and their title!
Then you can look them up in the A-Z directory on Howard's website to get their direct number!
