One thing I've learned from watching my grandmother...from watching young SINGLE moms...from seeing LIFE, it doesnt go how you PLAN it out to be. I'd rather be able to enjoy like i said...my early 20's...be able to date..to kick it with my homegurls. To be able just to enjoy you know the whole traveling scene...to get up and go when I please. Sh*t I don't even consider myself grown cuz guess what...when I leave Carbondale next week I'm taking my black **** to my momma house...where my MOMMA pay the bills...and where my MOMMA run the show...and im content with that. But you know its whatever floats ya boat Brett...If settling down and being the wife and having babies is ya dream and being able to work from home while you got ya husband and Sh*t...well do the damn thang with ya "GROWN" ****

It all depends on what type of woman you are. Some people look forward to havin a family and getting married. So people look forward to their career. Some look forward to kickin it and travelin. Some look forward to eatin out everyday. Some look forward to socializing with their girls. I look forward to ALL of the above. My mother was able to pull it off, and I will too. My mother kicks it, travels, work, raised me and my brother, eats out damn near everyday, and has had a husband for goin on 19 years. If fact my mother is one of the biggest socialites around. And she had me right when she got out of college. We are some multi-taskin women! Im the type of person that doesn't view having a family as a hinderance. Its part of life. I aint tryna wait around and then have a 10 yr old when Im 43 or 44... I want to be developing and progressing in my career, and owning commercial property across the country with few strings attached.

i def. feel ya, cafe... one of my homegurls & i were having this discussion the other day....she always says whenever she thinks of a family...husband...and children of her own.....she thinks of THE END OF LIFE, LoL that's y she agrees moreso with Tiph....she wants to make sure EVERYthing is settled...and she's had all her fun...before she brings a family into the equation because she thinks that will just basically be doom day when that happens... i, on the other hand....agree with u.....i ain't tryin' to be an older mama....i want to be youthful...be able to relate to my kids....and have them feel like I can relate to them...want to be able to do many things with them........I've known a lot of people (particularly in the South) who have had older parents....and while that definitely works as well, my mother was always a lil' younger...she had me @ 23, so she's now 43....and I've always appreciated her being a lil' young - it's helped out a lot... I think it just depends on your own life experiences....like, if you see what works for some people in your life...and what doesn't seem to work for people you come across....you shape what you plan to do...around that.... that homegirl of mine, for instance, has an older mother and saw her work out well in waiting a while to have her.... I, on the other hand, look at my mother as having had me @ 23 and my brother @ 26....which made my dad 26 & 29 @ those times....and even though they ended up getting a divorce....they were cool 'till the end and my mother has been a SERIOUS phenomonal renaissance woman....being not only a mother, but also everything else she's wanted to be...and what she isn't yet, she's on her way to becoming.... most of everything positive that has happened or were given to my brother & i were all because of her....her by herself....and most people wouldn't even guess it.... so yeah, I see her and am just like...damn....hopefully that will be me... but like Cafe says, i guess it just depends on the person.... not everyone has to wait 'till 30 to be financially, emotionally, and mentally stable...OR finished of all of the fun that life has to offer...... especially for those who has done all that they want to do and get out of their system, even by now...as far as having care-free, non-commitment type fun.... I feel ya, Cafe - I think the whole marital and family life aren't burdens...but more like enhancements to one's life......whenever you are really ready and you know you're ready for all of the "pro"s and "con"s of whatever your choices present, go for it!
