I go to Southern and I'm about to graduate in May 2007. I will share this with you. First of all, if you have any negative thoughts about a school then maybe you should not consider it. All schools have their problems and you will run into some trouble wherever you go. You just need to do some research and stop thinking so negative. You're showing your age. Southern is a great school with a lot of history and pride. The engineering, nursing school, agricultural department, and too many to name are all very good programs. If you think you just going to walk into Southern and walk out with a degree without hard work, you are sadly mistaken. You will work hard for your degree and many things you would have to sacrifice to make sure you stay on top. The professors will not give you an easy ride, and they will fail you. If you're not serious, you will be in school six or more years... As a resident assistant, the dorms are pretty straight as far as in behavior and you will be fine if you are not messy and take care of your business. If you are messy, expect to be dealt with. And if you watched the Weather Channel and did some research, you would know Baton Rouge did not get severly damaged by **** Katrina. I recommend before you even consider looking at attending a college you do some research, wiki it even, and read some books. You are in college to do two things: graduate and find a career. You will have fun, though. The men and the women are so different in prefereces and attitudes that you can not classify them as the same. Don't think that because there is a great number of Blacks in one areas that they are all the same. The best thing to do is to be amicable and get to know people. Good Luck.
