Dear Esteemed Colleagues the information presented was more of a historical piece to address the myth concerning Black Republicans. I respect your right to decide to vote the way you want, and I sincerely hope you can understand and respect mine; after all this is America. Also, there are many facts I could have presented and argued. However, I chose to list them because they dared to decide on their own to be in the party of their choice rather than the so-called Democratic party; the party some people say is the only party for Black people. Do you feel the Democratic party is the only party for Black people? If so, why? Also, what have the Democrats done to significantly change the plight of Black people in America? What impact have they had in your individual lives? Please explain the blind devotion. I look forward to your reply. All the best, tonia renee lee

Im not on any party why is that because for the 7 almost 8 years where i have become politically aware its been a republican ruled America......and this is one thing i hate.....who cares what they do for black people.....ARE U SERIOUS...its about us as a people not to divide it up into race everything should be equal benifiting not just black people but EVERYBODY in America...and thats what many people are confused on.....we make or break ourselves....there are so many tools to build ourselves up to a certain point but there are few black people that break that point and its a lot of hard work many of us dont want to put up with......so in the end Sweetheart u are the one with this blind devotion just because u feel as if they are the one going for black people....thats the least of my problems when i get to that point in my life when its time for me to break through u better believe they wont have time to look at my race because theyll be too amazed with my resume. So far to me in MY opinion ur arguement is invalid due to the fact u havent presented information that can benifit me as an american not neccesarily a black american.....and lets be realistic for a change .....thats all i have to say for now

The statement about the democratic party is not stated as a disrespectful statement. It is tended to shed light on a problem that exists in America with Black Americans and other Americans attempting to intimidate all Black Americans by calling them various names if they are not a Democrat. No other etnic group is blackmailed by their own as well as others into being in just one party, and Blacks should not be either. It amounts to an involuntary and voulantary plantation system in my opinion. It is my desire now to bullet some points that the Republicans under the current Bush Administration have done to address the plight and concerns of Black people in this country: . TAX RELIEF: ALLOWS 3 MILLION AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILIES TO SAVE MONEY FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S NEEDS BY RASING THE CHILD TAX CREDIT FROM $600 TO $1,000. .COMMITMENT TO BRIDGING THE HOMEOWNERSHIP GAP: PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH SIGNED THE AMERICAN DREAM DOWNPAYMENT ACT WHICH ATTACKS THE HOMEOWNERSHIP GAP THAT EXISTS ACROSS AMERICA BY HELPING APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MINORITY FAMILIES EACH YEAR WITH THEIR DOWNPAMENT AND CLOSING COSTS. HOMEOWNERSHIP AMONG AFRICAN-AMERICANS IS AT ITS HIGHEST RATE EVER. .FUNDING FOR MINORITY INSTITUTIONS IS UP 30% BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. PLEASE VISIT : ****.com | Republican National Committee :: African American Team Home for further information. Addressing the issues of today with each of my esteemed colleagues is always my pleasure. We are afforded this luxury of open communication because we live in America. Always protect our treasure of freedom of speech. All the best, tonia renee lee, M.P.A., University of Southern California

^^^^^Is that it...really?? After stealing his first election and somehow getting voted in a second time, I would figure the President would feel obligated to actually do something significant. Sure you listed a few things but he hasn't done NEARLY enough. So now, it is my desire to bullet some of my grievances with the current Bush Administration UNEMPLOYMENT..You say Bush is "committed to bridging the homeownership gap," BUT maybe he should start by first bridging the UNEMPLOYMENT GAP. After all, addressing the latter issue would no doubt solve the former. But he hasn't. In fact, the unemployment rate for African Americans in this nation is about twice that of whites and has been this way for quite some time. (Employment Situation Summary) Consequently the poverty status for African Americans is more than twice that of whites. (United States - Poverty - American FactFinder) How is YOUR party addressing this? INCARCERATION...African Americans are soooo disproportionately represented in the justice system it isn’t even funny. And even after they are released from jail ex convicts still face employment discrimination which leads to high unemployment rates. What programs has YOUR party put in place to address this? THE WAR..The President stubbornly refuses to admit his errors and miscalculations in Iraq. I don't fault him for sending troops half as much as I do for keeping them there. Why should I support a party whose leader's stubborness is costing the nation thousands of lives, billlions of dollars, and the support of the international community? When is YOUR party's leader going to open his eyes. VOTING RIGHTS..It makes no sense how even after completing sentences, ex-convicts in many states are stripped of one of their basic rights as citizens, the right to vote. However, since YOUR party aims to address the "concerns of Black people," why hasn't it done anything to address this issue which (as most negatives in our country seem to) disproportionately affects Blacks especially black males. GUANTANAMO BAY...Although this doesn't necessarily affect Blacks it's just another example of the Bush Administration's deceit and **** of power. The detaining of hundreds of individuals, often with little or no evidence against them, for months and even years is inexcusable. How does YOUR party which has shown blatant disregard for basic civil rights and has completely turned its back on the Geneva Conventions deserve my trust or allegiance? EXTRAORDINARY RENDITION...Again, not usually affecting blacks but still this practice demonstrates the hypocrisy and boldness of the Bush Administration. How can this administration speak out against leaders violating civil rights when it routinely sends ****suspects to foreign nations in the hopes of getting around U.S. laws on torture? How does YOUR party explain this disparity in its practice and in its policy? So to put it mildly I'm not impressed or swayed by your arguments or the way you claim YOUR party has addressed the "plight and concerns of Black people in this country," because in my opinion it HASN'T and judging by the way things are going it NEVER will.......Eboni

In my opinion, one person cannot be blamed for everything, including our President. The accomplishments regarding Blacks and the Bush Administration was listed because one of the respondents to my original post requested it. It was not intended to impress or sway. It is what it is a STATEMENT OF FACT. You have the right to your opinion. However, I believe there is hope for all mankind, and I concur with Former President Ronald Reagan who said:"YOU CAN PLAY A SPECIAL PART IN THE FUTURE. YOU'LL BE ITS AUTHOR. TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE WONDERFUL LIFE THAT LIES IN STORE FOR YOU. REJOICE IN YOUR FREEDOM, SAMPLE THE RICHNESS OF THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT LIE BEFORE YOU. HELP ONE ANOTHER, TRUST IN YOURSELVES, AND HAVE FAITH IN GOD, AND YOU'LL FIND MORE JOY AND HAPPINESS THAN YOU COULD IMAGINE. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE AMERICANS, AND IT IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT TO DREAM GREAT DREAMS IN THIS SWEET AND BLESSED LAND, TRULY THE GREATEST, FREEST, STRONGEST NATION ON EARTH." HAVE A GOOD NIGHT THROUGHOUT THE LAND! tonia
