I've probably called clark atlanta university over 100 times this summer.
(1)My email is completely screwed up and i havent been recieving any information such as orientation, financial aid, housing yada yada yada.
(2)I just recently found out(through my own intense investigation) that theres a required freshman summer reading To make matters worse, the book is incredibly hard to find:angryBarnes and noble.com didnt even have it in stock)
(3)They messed up my financial aid. I was SUPPOSED to be getting a full scholarship, tell me why these fools sent me a bill for the first semester with no mention of my SCHOOL ISSUED scholarship They playin with me and i'm not the one!
(4)Everytime i call them, either nobody answers the phone , nobody has the INTELLIGENCE to answer my question/fix my problem , or the person that i need to speak with is on "vacation" black people.
I'm starting to wish that i never applied to this shady **** school. During my process of applying to spelman and enrolling, i never had ANY problems. I applaud the staff at that school. It really is top notch . Too bad they were to stingy to offer me a scholarship or i'd be going there this fall Anyway, I guess i'm just venting and wondering if any other CAU students are having this difficult of a time. Btw, the freshman required summer reading is called The Sacred Place, by Daniel Black,for those of you who are also having problems with your email(I was told that the email issue is an internal problem within the schools own system)
One more thing! Are there any CAU pre-meds out there? If so, would you happen to know anything about the Boston university early medical school program? I'm very interested in that but when I called the department of biology they didn't even know it existed Hello! Its a program within YOUR department! Idiots.
Welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear about your issues but if you Google "The Sacred Place by Daniel Black" it shows a list of sites that have the book for sale, ranging from $13 to $24. I hope this helps.
So u **** off too? First let me say that CAU was my first choice. I knew thats where I wanted to go for 2 yrs now. So here I am, an incoming freshman. I got my welcome packet. Great. Got my student id and password. Great. I logged on to tha bannerweb to check my financial aid status and it says my fafsa was rejected due to some mismatch info. I get my SAR in tha mail, I make the corrections and send it back. Great. I receive another welcome packet from CAU with a different student id and password(hmm..thats strange)so i log onto tha bannerweb to see if this new id and password works. IT DOES. Its also had my financial aid status updated. It displayed my loan and grant in detail. GREAT. Jus to make sure everything was right, I log out and log back in usin my old password and pin. KEEP UP NOW DONT LOSE ME THIS SET STILL WORKS, only it displays tha old information. So I called n let them know. They deactivated one set and told me to use the first set. Ok. so im thinkin everything is fixed. But I logged onto banner web @ a later date and its no longer displayin my updated info its sayin make correction to SAR. AS IF THAT WHOLE PROCESS NEVER HAPPENDED. They deactivated tha wrong set. And to make a long story short..I've been calling and emailin the financial aid office for over a month and my problem still isn't fixed. It took 6 emails before I got a reply and I only got a reply because I was very rude in tha 6th one. then I started callin. tha woman(i wont say her name) keeps givin me tha run around. every tim I call I have to give tha same woman my info all over again and she says"okay give me a call back tomorrow" my mom called tha last time(yesterday) and she wasn't rude..lol but it was uh...whats tha word...well she made it clear that she felt it was anacceptable. So now tha problem is suppose to be fixed by this friday..
I called tha orientation office to inquire about tha activities and this guy answered tha phone like this: "HELLO?!" I thought I dialed tha wrong number I started stutterin and was like, umm..is this. He then cut me off n said "Oh hold on" played tha hold music(ya'll no tha one that talks about tha history of CAU and all tha upcomin activities) he came back and said "thank you for calling Clark Atlanta's Orientation Offices how may I help you?" I burst out laughin then asked him my questions.. I laughed but when I told my mom, she didnt think it was funny but very unprofessional. She's right. So she's in the process of writin a very long letter to tha school. Im still boosted about attendin CAU, but Im very disappointed in the way they handle things. They are not on point @ all.
**** @ misssweet. That school is sooooo UNPROFESSIONAL. And you know what? CAU used to have a forum on the school website, but they shut it down because students were bumrushing it and creating threads talkin about how CAU was so trife and shady! My mom used to frequent the forums earlier this year. I didnt even mention how they have me taking classes for a major in psychology instead of biology!! WTF?? I'm so fed up with this school its unreal! Please excuse me while i try to call them for the third time today, trying to figure out which dorm im going to be in!
Yea I know about tha forum..lol I was one of those students u talkin bout. lol I just dont understand..I dont understand why we "THE STUDENTS" aren't the priority cuz if we were our **** wouldn't be so ****ed up!
No I didnt attend last yr but my cousin will be a sophmore this yr and I remember her having a hard time when she was accepted last yr. and she said CAU is very slow with everything they do.
