I'm takin capoeira in Atlanta right now and loving it. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial arts developed by slaves to escape. It is dance mixed with fighting and very tricky. I take capoeira angola which is slow and low to the ground. Good stuff. It's physical, mental, and spiritual.

Besides Eddy Gordo from the Tekken video game series, I've seen that art form in a movie back in the day. I can't remember the name of the movie but they used the martial arts and dance. It might have been called, "Capoeira". It was one of those movie of the "Save The Kids" movement where unruly kids learn to appreciate something new and their lives are changed forever....and of course the boy hooks up with the hot girl! ...but anywho, yeah I've heard of it. Cool beans!

LOL! You're talkin about Only the Strong! That movie got me into capoeira. That'a old school man came out in '93.

No capoeira in Miami? That's a bit strange. I always thought that capoeira would at least have some strong holds in Southern Florida since you aren't that far from Brazil.
