just use loans and go into debt like the rest of us... i heard it builds up your credit paying off loans until you are in your 40's sorry i am bitter lol j.k but do well on your SAT AND ACT....i recommend taking them all and taking them more than once because i was a **** and took the sat my junior year thinking i was a genius and let that be my only score ....dumb i know..but i took the act late in my senior year because a friend was scared to go by herself...and did pretty well...not scholarship well but hey not the moral of the story... 1. TAKE ACT AND SAT over and over again the qualifying scores are on the net 2. apply for all the outside scholarships you can...you get it what you put in 3. fill out your fafsa early 4. do NOT let any amount of money deter you from your dreams.... 5. enjoy your senior year but don't let your grades slip! 6. talk to your choice, family members, etc to make a fund for you.... hell they are the main ones talking about it takes a community to raise a child i applied for early action which I believe is november 1 so get your transcript early in your senior year and go online to see the application since howard is a land of some great independent minds...i will leave the rest to you...but to start you off... Howard University (read every aspect of the site especially paying for hu) Google (self explanatory) FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid (i think)

In order to qualify for the Freshman Scholarship you have to have at least a 26 on the ACT and a 3.0 GPA Grants, Scholarships & Fellowships - Howard University For your best chances....apply before the Early Action Deadline so you won't be stuck waiting.

Well you definately wont be stuck waiting for your admittance, but I applied early action and still havent recieved my financial aid package. But, in order to get what you want out of Howard, all you have to do is stay on top of them...calling and emailing works wonders!

My gpa was a 3.2/4.0. I had a couple activities on my application, but only the important ones. My sat and act were so so. If your grades are solid and your SAT and/or ACT are looking pretty good (Reading and Math combined above 1000) I would definately apply early action. Ill get back to you about my financail aid package, just PM me about it.
